It was reported last year that Samsung was working on a new battery technology that would increase the energy density of the battery without changing the chemical contents of the cells. So, the batteries will be able to pack more capacity within a more compact volume. The change is in the arrangement of the cells and it is called the stacked battery technology.
Samsung was expected to offer this new tech to the world of smartphones with this year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the company decided to push back the production of the new stacked batteries.
