This means that from 4th August (Season 30), the game won’t be playable, and you won’t be able to buy or spend any in-game currency unless you switch to Switch 2.
Respawn didn’t provide a specific reason as to why updates would be discontinued on Switch — although we can guess that it’s something to do with the hardware given support continues on Switch 2 — but did say the discontinuation was part of the studio’s goal to «continue to evolve Apex Legends’ content and technical foundation» and «deliver a high quality experience».
