iRobot just announced presales for the forthcoming J9+ line of vacuums, a refresh of the flagship J7+ line. These vacuums boast more suction power than ever before and a whole suite of new features, thanks to an updated operating system that prioritizes automation and efficiency.
Amazon’s iRobot just released a pair of budget-friendly robo-vacs to suit modest cleaning tasks, but it’s been a while since the flagship J7+ vacuum got a refresh. Well, the wait is over. The company announced presales for the forthcoming J9+ line of vacuums, and these high-end appliances boast plenty of nifty features for those who absolutely hate manually pushing a vacuum or mop around.
The J9+ is available in two versions, which is normally the case with modern Roomba devices. There’s the traditional vacuum-only J9+ and the Roomba Combo J9+ that mops in addition to sucking up dirt. The latter ships with a redesigned fill dock that automatically empties debris and replenishes the robot with mopping liquid, removing yet another manual cleaning step so you can get back to the important work of clearing out that Netflix queue.
These robots are more powerful than ever before, with an amped-up motor designed to “tackle dirt, pet fur and debris with unmatched precision.” The four-stage cleaning system provides multiple passthroughs and the newly-added dual rubber brushes take the suction power up a notch, in addition to allowing for pressurized scrubbing when necessary. The Combo J9+ features a motor that automatically lifts the mop pads when vacuuming carpets and rugs to avoid moisture leakage.
The hardware updates are well and good, and certainly useful, but it’s the software that provides the lion’s share of new features. These Roombas ship with OS 7, which looks to take automation and efficiency to the next level. The software boasts a tool called Dirt Detective that uses a proprietary algorithm to keep track of previous cleaning tasks to assess the dirtiest parts of the home, prioritizing those locations accordingly. In other words, it’ll start with the dirtiest rooms and move on from there.
The Combo J9+ goes a step further, and Dirt Detective will force the vacuum and mop to clean the bathroom last, no matter how dirty it is. This means that the vacuum won’t be tracking gross bathroom stuff throughout the rest of the home. If you want a more hands-on approach, you can use the app to manually select the navigation route through your house.
Other software improvements include the SmartScrub feature that ensures the Combo J9+ makes multiple passes through certain parts of the home, like the kitchen, when mopping. It’ll even boost the scrubbing power in these locations to eliminate dirt and stains. This also works in the other direction, so the vacuum will scrub less in cleaner areas to protect hardwood flooring and the like.
The Roomba J9+ and the Combo J9+ are available for preorder today from iRobot and tomorrow from third-party retailers, with shipments going out sometime during the fall. The vacuum-only J9+ costs $900 and the Combo J9+ costs $1,400. As for OS 7, it’s coming to other Roomba models beyond the J9+, but the company hasn’t said which ones.

Top US semiconductors and digital companies including Intel, GlobalFoundries and Google are expected to attend a business meeting on Monday in Hanoi as President Joe Biden visits Vietnam to boost ties, two people familiar with the plan said.
The meeting, which is still being arranged, would confirm US plans to boost Vietnam’s global role in different segments of chip-making, as part of Washington’s broader strategy to reduce the sector’s exposure to China-linked risks, including trade restrictions and tensions over Taiwan.
Senior executives from Google, Intel, Amkor, Marvell, GlobalFoundries and Boeing are among expected attendees, according to a partial list that a person familiar with the plans discussed with Reuters.
The companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside business hours.

The second person familiar with the plans confirmed the presence of several large US chips companies, including Amkor, their Vietnamese partners, such as tech company FPT, and Vietnamese and US top officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Semiconductors are expected to be a focal point during Biden’s visit to Hanoi on Sunday and Monday, US administration officials said, as the White House seeks to formally elevate relations with the former foe.
The round table has not been announced, and it is unclear whether announcements will be made by any of the companies attending the meeting, which one of the sources said would involve about 30 top executives and officials.
Some of those on the list have already invested or announced investments in Vietnam.
Intel has a US$1.5 billion factory in southern Vietnam for assembling, packaging and testing chips, the biggest in its global network, and has had plans to expand it.

Amkor is building near Hanoi “a state-of-the-art mega factory for semiconductor assembly and testing”, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on a visit to Hanoi in July. The company has dozens of open positions on its Vietnam web page.
Chip designing firm Marvell has said it plans to build a “world-class” centre in Vietnam.
US officials have repeatedly said that assembling and designing were the segments of the chip-making industry where Vietnam was likely to grow faster, although a shortage of engineers could slow the industry take-off.
Vietnam has also ambitions to build its own chip-making factories, or fabs. GlobalFoundries is specialised in making integrated circuits on wafers for smartphones, cars and other applications.
Vietnam is a major exporter of smartphones and electronics.

An executive at a major US chips firm said the Vietnamese government had been holding meetings with most major chips companies in the country, including Intel, Samsung and Qualcomm, to ask for advice on setting up the country’s first fab.
US officials have also said an upgrade of formal ties with Vietnam could help collaboration on artificial intelligence (AI), a sector in which Google is a major global player.
Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate and the parent of Nasdaq-listed electric car maker VinFast, has a unit focused on AI.
Boeing may announce a deal involving the sale of 50 of its 737 MAX jets, people familiar with the matter told Reuters. Boeing declined to comment.

Wegen technischer Probleme mit seinem Flugzeug hat Kanadas Premierminister Justin Trudeau nach Abschluss des G20-Gipfels in Indien das Land vorerst nicht verlassen können. Kurz vor dem geplanten Abflug sei die Delegation darüber informiert worden, dass es ein technisches Problem an dem Airbus-Flieger gebe, hieß es in einer Mitteilung seines Büros, aus der kanadische Medien zitierten.
Details zu den technischen Problemen wurden zunächst nicht mitgeteilt, sie konnten aber offenbar nicht kurzfristig gelöst werden. «Unsere Delegation wird in Indien bleiben, bis andere Arrangements vorgenommen worden sind», hieß es. Trudeau war am Freitag mit seiner Delegation zu dem Gipfel der führenden Industrie- und Schwellenländer in der indischen Hauptstadt Neu Delhi angereist.
Mit dem Flugzeug hatte es kanadischen Medien zufolge in der Vergangenheit schon mehrfach kleinere Probleme gegeben, ebenso mit einem Ersatzflieger. Auch die Reisepläne von Mitgliedern der deutschen Bundesregierung wurden bisweilen von Problemen mit Maschinen der Flugbereitschaft der Bundeswehr ausgebremst.
Zuletzt hatte es Außenministerin Annalena Baerbock getroffen, die eine geplante Reise nach Australien, Neuseeland und Fidschi im August wegen Pannen an einem A340 der Flugbereitschaft der Bundeswehr absagen musste.

The “Blended” actress, 48, took to Instagram Sunday to make it clear to viewers that she “owns this choice” to premiere Season 4 of “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Sept. 18.
She began the statement by explaining more about her decision to walk away as host of the MTV Movie & TV Awards in May, days after the WGA strike began, as it was in “direct conflict with what the strike was dealing with which was studios, streamers, film, and television.”
“I am also making the choice to come back for the first time in this strike for our show, that may have my name on it but this is bigger than just me,” she wrote. “I own this choice.”
Her message continued, “We are in compliance with not discussing or promoting film and television that is struck of any kind. We launched live in a global pandemic. Our show was built for sensitive times and has only functioned through what the real world is going through in real time.”
She added: “I want to be there to provide what writers do so well, which is a way to bring us together or help us make sense of the human experience. I hope for a resolve for everyone as soon as possible. We have navigated difficult times since we first came on air. And so I take a step forward to start season 4 once again with an astute humility.”
Barrymore’s reps told The Post on Sunday that she has no further comment.
The show is produced and distributed by CBS Media Ventures and shot at the CBS Broadcast Center in Midtown.
A CBS Media Ventures spokesperson told The Post that, “The Drew Barrymore Show will not be performing any writing work covered by the WGA strike.”
“I am so excited to see what Drew has in store for season four,” Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, said in a statement shared with The Post.
“From launching during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic to successfully pivoting to a groundbreaking half-hour format, this show has demonstrated spectacular resilience and creative agility on its journey to becoming the fastest-growing show in daytime. We couldn’t have a better partner in Drew Barrymore and look forward to bringing our fans and station clients alike new episodes this fall,” she added.
When reached by The Post, the WGA shared a statement shared on its social media.
“The @DrewBarrymoreTV Show is a WGA covered, struck show that is planning to return without its writers,” the Writers Guild of America, East tweeted Sunday.
“The Guild has, and will continue to, picket struck shows that are in production during the strike. Any writing on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ is in violation of WGA strike rules.”
The WGA East is planning to picket outside the CBS Broadcast Center Monday and Tuesday.
In her statement, Barrymore noted her show wrapped for the summer on April 20, before the strikes began.
Since May 2, Hollywood writers have been striking for higher wages, regulation surrounding artificial intelligence, and better pay from streaming services. The SAG-AFTRA strike began in July.
The guest lineup for Barrymore’s show has not yet been announced — but according to strike guidelines, union members are prohibited from participating in interviews for completed work and making personal appearances.
New seasons of “The View,” “Tamron Hall,” and “Live with Kelly and Mark” also premiered this month.
Barrymore’s show debuted in September 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
It delivered “record growth” last season, according to Deadline, which reported a 65% increase in total viewers year to year, making it the fastest growing talk show on television.
The new season of “Jeopardy!,” meanwhile, will premiere Monday. Producers announced last month that Season 40 will proceed a bit differently than usual.
On the “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast, “Jeopardy!” showrunner Michael Davies revealed that the long-running quiz show will use recycled material and feature former contestants because of the strike.
“The material that we’re gonna be using is a combination of material that our WGA writers wrote before the strike, which is still in the database and material that is being redeployed from multiple, multiple seasons of the show,” Davies said.

Die AfD hat erneut die Chance auf ein kommunales Spitzenamt in Thüringen. Ihr Kandidat, der 61 Jahre alte Unternehmer Jörg Prophet, erzielte am Sonntag bei der Oberbürgermeisterwahl in der Thüringer Industrie- und Hochschulstadt Nordhausen 42,1 Prozent der Stimmen, wie eine Sprecherin der Stadtverwaltung mitteilte. Er verbuchte damit unter fünf weiteren Bewerbern das mit Abstand beste Ergebnis und kam in die Stichwahl am 24. September. Prophet muss sich in zwei Wochen mit dem parteilosen Amtsinhaber Kai Buchmann messen, der 23,7 Prozent erhielt.
Die Wahlbeteiligung lag bei 56,4 Prozent, bei der Wahl 2017 waren es im ersten Wahlgang 44,6 Prozent. Eine Stichwahl wird nötig, wenn keiner der Bewerber im ersten Durchgang die Schwelle von 50 Prozent erreicht. Höcke frohlockt auf Twitter
Die AfD, die bundesweit vom Verfassungsschutz als rechtsextremer Verdachtsfall eingestuft ist, hat seit Ende Juni eine Landratswahl in Thüringen und eine Bürgermeisterwahl in Sachsen-Anhalt gewonnen. Den Anfang machte der Landkreis Sonneberg in Südthüringen, wo der AfD-Politiker Robert Sesselmann zum ersten Landrat der AfD gewählt wurde.
„Damit scheint ein weiterer Erfolg wie in Sonneberg möglich, obwohl Nordhausen noch vor wenigen Monaten nicht als Hochburg der AfD galt“, kommentierte Thüringens AfD-Landessprecher Stefan Möller das Ergebnis in Nordhausen. Landesparteichef Björn Höcke schrieb auf X, vormal Twitter, er sei sich sicher, dass die AfD in zwei Wochen ihren ersten Oberbürgermeister stellen könne.

Wahlberechtigt waren nach Angaben der Stadtverwaltung knapp 37.000 Menschen.

Nordhausen war lange eine SPD-Hochburg, hat in den vergangenen elf Jahren aber viele Wechsel an der Stadtspitze erlebt. Die Oberbürgermeisterwahl in diesem Jahr steht auch unter dem Eindruck von internen Streitigkeiten und persönlichen Auseinandersetzungen. Amtsinhaber Buchmann war im Frühjahr vorläufig suspendiert worden, nach einem Verwaltungsgerichtsentscheid ist er seit August wieder im Amt. Der Landkreis wirft ihm Dienstpflichtverletzungen vor.
Die AfD erlebt derzeit ein Umfragehoch. In Sachsen lag sie bei einer Umfrage des Meinungsforschungsinstitutes Insa Anfang September bei 35 Prozent, in Thüringen waren es vor einigen Wochen 34 Prozent und in Brandenburg 28 Prozent.
Thüringer Landespolitiker wie der Fraktionschef der Linken im Landtag, Steffen Dittes, befürchten die „Normalisierung einer rechtsextremen Partei“. In Thüringen wird die AfD mit ihrem Chef Höcke vom Landesverfassungsschutz als erwiesen rechtsextrem eingestuft und beobachtet. Eine Normalisierung der AfD im Kommunalen würde langfristig Barrieren außer Kraft setzen, „die auf Landes- und Bundesebene noch bestehen“, befürchtete Dittes. Gedenkstätten-Direktor: „Schlimm genug“
Der Direktor der Stiftung Gedenkstätten Buchenwald und Mittelbau-Dora, Jens-Christian Wagner, hofft nach dem AfD-Erfolg im ersten Wahlgang auf eine demokratische Mehrheit in der Stichwahl. Immerhin habe es der AfD-Kandidat im ersten Wahlgang nicht geschafft, schrieb Wagner am Sonntag im Kurznachrichtendienst X (früher Twitter). „Dass in Nordhausen aber 42,1 Prozent den Kandidaten einer rechtsextremen Partei gewählt haben, ist schlimm genug. Hoffen wir, dass die demokratische Mehrheit in der Stichwahl hält.“

In Nordhausen hatten die Nationalsozialisten von 1943 bis 1945 das berüchtigte Konzentrationslager Mittelbau-Dora betrieben, in dem insgesamt 60.000 Häftlinge unter unsäglichen Bedingungen Zwangsarbeit für die deutsche Rüstungsindustrie leisten mussten. Sie hatten unter anderem Marschflugkörper zu bauen, mit denen die deutsche Luftwaffe während des Zweiten Weltkrieges London attackierte. 20.000 Häftlinge kamen bei der Zwangsarbeit ums Leben, verhungerten, starben an Krankheiten oder wurden von den Nazis hingerichtet.

Как сообщает WSJ со ссылкой на ряд украинских, западных и американских официальных лиц, самолеты этого типа могут попасть в Украину к февралю 2024 года.
По информации издания, обучение тех пилотов, которые владеют английским языком, в США могут завершиться за пять месяцев. При этом известно, что группа с около десяти украинских пилотов отправилась на обучение в Аризону (США) и займется непосредственно летной подготовкой. Также известно, что «десятки» других пилотов отправились на авиабазу в Сан-Антонио для изучения английского языка.
Вместе с тем источники издания отмечают, что английский язык не является настолько большой проблемой, а самый главный вызов будет крыться в другом.
К примеру, к такому мнению склоняется бывший командующий войсками США в Европе Бен Ходжес, который отмечает, что для управления самолетом «не обязательно уметь читать Шекспира».
Впрочем, издание напоминает, что на один час полета F-16 необходимо примерно 16 часов его обслуживания, а потому обучить достаточное количество обслуживающего персонала может оказаться более проблематичным, чем обучить непосредственно пилотов.

Der Musiker Peter Maffay hat bestätigt, dass er seine Partnerin Hendrikje Balsmeyer geheiratet habe. »Ja, es stimmt. Hendrikje und ich sind verheiratet und längst ein glückliches Ehepaar«, sagte Maffay (»Ich wollte nie erwachsen sein«, »Über sieben Brücken«) der »Bild«-Zeitung  .

Nach zwei weiteren Begegnungen, darunter auf einer Fanreise in Maffays Geburtsland Rumänien, verliebten sich die beiden trotz eines Altersunterschieds von 38 Jahren.

New/Old Reasons Not To Buy Stocks

There were new concerns to pressure stocks last week as the bear’s spoke out. s Tom Aspray discusses whether they really matter to the year’s bullish trend.
The stock market tried to fight the selling as the media experts came up with more reasons to argue why stocks should not move higher. Near the top of the new list is the fact that the dollar closed higher for the eighth week in a row. This coincided with last week’s Reuter survey where 81% of the FX strategists surveyed think that the risk is for further dollar gains. Their outlook for 2024 is less bullish.
On the weekly chart of the Dollar Index, the 38.2% resistance of the decline from the 2022 high at 115.06 has just been exceeded with the 50% resistance at $106.91. The March 2022 high is at 105.87 with the starc+ band at 106.52.
The weekly on-balance-volume (OBV) is positive as it overcame its WMA in early August. The volume has been steady but well below the levels seen in 2022. The Herrick Payoff Index (HPI) uses volume, open interest and price to determine money flow is also positive at +22. It turned positive at the same time as the OBV.
The stronger-than-expected ISM Services Index last week combined with the stronger dollar and higher crude prices suggested to some that inflation could stay high and push the Fed to raise rates further.
Almost a year ago one of the most bearish Wall Street strategists, Mike Wilson from Morgan Stanley MS warned that the “dollar’s surge could lead to a crisis”. The argument is that earnings from tech giants like Apple AAPL Inc. (AAPL) and Microsoft MSFT Inc. (MSFT) would be hurt by a strong dollar.
By the start of the year, the conviction that a recession was inevitable and the expectations for weak earnings were often used as a key argument against buying stocks. Though both AAPL and MSFT have reported a decline in earnings because of the dollar overall earnings have been stronger than expected.
The point of this discussion is that even though the outlook for both the dollar and crude oil are currently positive it does not guarantee that the impact of these markets has to be either negative or positive for stocks. Therefore I recommend using technical indicators such as the A/D line, OBV, and MACDs to tell you whether a market is likely to move higher or lower.
Only one of the markets, the Dow Jones Utility Average was higher last week as it gained 0.6%. However, it is down 9.9% year-to-date and the WK_DTS readings on its largest holdings are all negative. It was another tough week for the Dow Jones Transportation Average as it was down 4% while the iShares Russell 2000 declined 3.6%.
The Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 were down 1.4% and 1.3% respectively while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was 0.8% lower. The market internals were even weaker than the averages as on the NYSE there were 750 issues advancing last week and 2301 declining. On the Nasdaq Composite, there were 1294 advancing stocks and 3458 declining.
Since the start of August, there have generally been more New Lows on the Nasdaq Composite than New Highs. For example, on Friday there were 248 stocks making New Lows while only 40 New Highs. A reading in the New Lows, above the August peak at 288, line b, would be more negative. The New Highs peaked in July at 278 and though it has formed sharply lower highs, line a, there was no divergence as the average did not make a new high.
The Spyder Trust (SPY PY SPY ) is down 1.1% so far this month as the rally stalled at $453.67 and the decline has gone a bit further than expected as it has reached the 20-day EMA at $416.06. There is important support, line a, in the $433 area. If it is broken on a decisive basis the rising 200-day MA is at $416.06.
The daily S&P 500 Advance/Decline line flipped back to positive on August 28th providing for a good long entry the next day as SPY opened at $442.65 and closed at $449.16. The S&P 500 rose slightly on Friday to close barely above its WMA and will look quite bullish on a strong upday. Of course, a day of solid selling will drop the A/D line well below its WMA. The on-balance volume shows a similar bullish setup and could also break either way.
The Invesco QQQ QQQ Trust (QQQ) rallied close to $375 on Friday but late selling caused it to close at $372.58. That was above the flattening 20-day EMA at $371.60 and the pivot at $372.09. The daily starc- band is at $364.54 with major support at $354.50, line a, which goes back to June.
The Nasdaq 100 A/D line is still holding above its rising WMA but this will be an important week for the A/D line. The uptrend from the March lows, line c, was tested and held in August which is a positive sign. A move above the downtrend line b will suggest the correction is over. The relative performance (RS) moved back above its WMA as the A/D line turned positive. The RS is still indicating that QQQ is a market leader.
The analysis of the ratio of the iShares Russell 1000 Growth (IWF IWF ) to the iShares Russell 1000 Value (IWD IWD ) still favors growth over value as it made a new high for the year last week. The event will see the launch of the iPhone 15 models, which is widely believed to include the vanilla iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple iPhone 15 launch event, called ‘Wonderlust’, is set to take place on Tuesday, September 12th at 10:30 PM IST.

The iPhone 15 is tipped to feature one of the biggest design changes. As per reports, all the models in the iPhone 15 series will ditch Apple’s proprietary Lightning port and instead opt for a USB Type-C charging solution.
This move could be in place to comply with the European Union’s mandate to implement USB-C across all electronic devices sold in the region which Apple may have to consider seriously while making it put USB-C on all iPhones irrespective of the country.

Besides that, regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus both may carry the same transfer speeds as current lightning iPhones, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could come with faster speeds to have a differentiating factor.
Coming to the side frame, rumour has it that the iPhone 15 Pro models may feature solid-state volume and power buttons, similar to the home button found on iPhone SE and other iPhones before 2017. The concept here is to replicate the effect and functionality of the Force Touch feature of the trackpad on MacBooks.
The iPhone 15 series is also tipped to feature curved side frames, something similar to the iPhone 5C along with a titanium frame and body.
Also, the placement of the power and volume buttons could be a bit lower than their position on the precursors. Speaking of buttons, the Ring/Silent Switch is also rumoured to be replaced with an Action Button.

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max could get Titan Gray colour and ditch the Gold colour. The special colour this time around could be Dark Blue. There’s been some chatter around a green-coloured iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus too. Even the USB-C cables could come in with matching colours to the phone.

Display
The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to retain the same display sizes across all the iPhones.
This means the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro should have a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max may carry 6.7-inch displays.
Furthermore, to enhance the display experience, the non-Pro iPhone 15 models may carry the pill-shaped Dynamic Island introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series instead of the ageing notch.
Unfortunately, Apple may once again reserve the high refresh rate (ProMotion) and Always-On Display support for just the Pro models in the iPhone 15 lineup.
Cameras
As for the optics on the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple may have no plans to bring significant hardware upgrades to the cameras, especially since it introduced a bunch of new sensors on the iPhone 14 series including a 48MP primary lens on the Pro models.
However, there is chatter about this main camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max sporting an “almost 1-inch” camera sensor.
Chipset
The performance side of things on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could be taken care of by the yet-to-be-announced Apple A17 Bionic while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may run on the A16 Bionic found on the iPhone 14 Pro.
Utilising previous generations’ chipsets on the standard iPhone 15 variants allows Apple to differentiate the Pro from the non-Pro models.
Now coming back to the Apple A17, the company’s chip manufacturer, TSMC is said to use a 3nm process to develop the chipset that will result in better battery efficiency and provide a performance boost by 10 to 15 percent over the current chip.
Apple could once again pack in Qualcomm-made modem chips for mobile connectivity across all the iPhone 15 models.
Battery
The vanilla iPhone 15 could bear a 3,877mAh battery (18 per cent bigger). The iPhone 15 Plus could ship with a 4,912mAh battery (13.6 per cent bigger), the iPhone 15 Pro with a 3,650mAh battery (14.1 per cent bigger), and the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a 4,852mAh battery (10.9 per cent bigger).
The 15W MagSafe could get newer Qi2 standard support too. Also, at least some, if not all of the iPhone 15 models could bring 35W faster charging support too.
Among other things, there are rumours that the iPhone 15 series will be coming with upgraded UWB (Ultra Wide Band) for better connectivity with the Apple Vision headset.
Apple has reportedly begun assembling the iPhone 15 at Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu. Its other manufacturing partners are Wistron and Pegatron and it could start some of the iPhone 15 assembly in these facilities too.
Also, in related news, an Apple device supposedly the iPhone 15 has been spotted on the BIS certification site in India. 
So, as the Apple Wonderlust event is right around the corner, it shouldn’t be long before we have confirmation on many of these rumours and speculation.
