Посол Польщі в Україні Ян Пєкло переконаний, що Російська Федерація хоче посварити його країну з Україною.
«Я б сказав, що це просто історичний процес. Такий процес був у нас з німцями: листи вибачення один перед одним. Я знаю, що представники наших обох сторін написали теж такі листи один одному, і я думав, що процес пішов. Але, на жаль, є Росія, яка хоче нас посварити, і робить усе можливе для цього» , — сказав Пєкло, інформує «День».
Він наголосив, що в Польщі працює велика кількість українців, і ставлення поляків до них — позитивне. Пєкло також прокоментував інцидент зі спаленням українського прапора під час Маршу в Варшаві влітку і в грудні минулого року в Перемишлі.
«Я не можу уявити, щоб це зробив нормальний поляк. А якщо це зробив поляк, то він працює не на Польщу, а на якийсь інший інтерес. Щодо Перемишля — подібна ситуація. Йшли демонстранти, і перед Українським домом хтось так вигукнув. Відразу з’явився фільм, який розтиражували. Нещодавно хтось повісив портрет Бандери в нас на посольстві. І знову — фільм. Росія розуміє, що соціальні мережі для них — це найкраща зброя, яка тільки може бути. Далі це переходить із соцмереж до мейнстріму за допомогою газет, телебачення, радіо. І це — проблема, Росія досягає того, чого хоче» , — сказав посол.
Він зазначив, що як Україні, так і Польщі необхідно боротися з російською пропагандою, в першу чергу, не тиражуючи фейкові новини та заяви.
«У нас є суто волонтерська група під назвою «П’ята російська колона у Польщі», яка показує методи і результати пропаганди, фейкові новини. У вас є «Стопфейк»… На основі їхніх розслідувань можна було би написати статтю. По-перше, це б показало, що ми спільно працюємо. І, по друге, її слід було б опублікувати в авторитетних виданнях з обох сторін і в такий спосіб показати, що наша ворожнеча — це неправда» , — наголосив Пєкло.
Нагадаємо, що м іністр закордонних справ Польщі Вітольд Ващиковський заявив, що Польща хоче покращити відносини з Росією .

Керівництво вирішило зупинити Донецьку фільтрувальну станцію і евакуювати персонал, водопостачання Авдіївки поки не переривалося
Керівництво Донецької фільтрувальної станції (ДФС) прийняло рішення про евакуацію персоналу і зупинку підприємства. Про це повідомляє прес-група об’єднаного територіального управління «Донецьк», передає прес-служба Міноборони України.
«Дві доби ДФС знаходиться в зоні найсильніших обстрілів з боку російсько-окупаційних військ… У таких умовах забезпечувати роботу ДФС неможливо, люди практично постійно знаходяться в бомбосховищі. Керівництво компанії прийняло рішення про евакуацію персоналу і зупинці ДФС», – йдеться в повідомленні.
При цьому у відомстві з посиланням на місцеву військово-цивільну адміністрацію повідомляють, що міський резервуар Авдіївки заповнений, питна вода надходить населенню в штатному режимі.
«У місцевому каналізаційному господарстві стежать за ситуацією на фільтрувальної станції, яка живить Авдіївку і готові до будь-якого розвитку подій», – йдеться в повідомленні.
За даними Міноборони, в результаті обстрілу об’єкти фільтрувальної станції отримали значні пошкодження.
«Боєприпаси потрапили в резервуар в склад хлору. Також зафіксовані два попадання в резервуари чистої води, снаряди впали близько адміністративно-побутового корпусу та будівлі фільтрів. Крім того, осколками посічене будівлю фільтрів і пошкоджені віконні перекриття, пошкоджено покрівлю будівлі фільтрів», – повідомляють в відомстві.
ДФС частково забезпечує водою Авдіївку, Красногорівку і селище Верхньоторецьке, які знаходяться під контролем ЗСУ. Також станція дає воду в окуповані бойовиками міста Донецьк, Ясинувата, а також біля селища Василівка і Спартак.

Malaysian police have evidence that seems to clearly link North Korea to the death of Kim Jong Il’s eldest son.
Malaysian officials have reported that testing reveals that Kim Jong-Nam the older, estranged, half-brother of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un The fact that such a rare and hard to obtain substance as VX was apparently used in this assassination adds further credence to the idea that the North Korean government was behind Kim Jong-Nam’s assassination. What’s unclear is what might have motivated at this point in time. The elder Kim had been living in exile in Macau and elsewhere for years in relative obscurity and never talked to the press about North Korea, his brother, or any other member of his family. Other than occasional inquiries about whether he would be allowed to return home, which were routinely denied, Kim had very little contact with anyone back in Pyongyang and seemed to be enjoying the life of a playboy as he traveled through southern Asia visiting various resorts and casinos. From the outside at least, it’s unclear why the younger Kim would suddenly view his brother as enough of a threat as to authorize what was obviously a high-profile attack against him that could easily be traced back to North Korea. It’s possible, of course, that there were things going on behind the scenes that we’re not aware of as of yet. Perhaps the younger Kim feared that the Chinese had designs of using the elder Kim as a potential ally, perhaps even going so far as to try to push him out of power and install a more pliable leader in his place. Perhaps the elder Kim was indeed in contact with the Chinese and this was a pre-emptive attack on Kim Jong-Un’s part. At some point, perhaps, we’ll find out the truth about this, but it’s not likely to happen unless and until the regime falls or a major party closer to Kim defects and spills all the country’s deep, dark secrets.

У вирішальному протистоянні в Тегерані українка зіграє проти переможниці півфіналу, в якому грають китаянка Тан Жонгуй і представниця Індії Харик Дронаваллі. Першу партію, яка відбулася вчора, 23 лютого, виграла Дронаваллі.
Нагадаємо, вирішальний поєдинок буде складатися з 4 партій і пройде 27 лютого — 3 березня.
Ганна Музичук вперше зіграє у фіналі чемпіонату світу. Останній світовий форум, який відбувся в 2015 році, виграла її сестра Марія Музичук.

Cloudbleed: Cloudflare leaks sensitive data, many major websites affected

Security researchers from Google’s Project Zero have uncovered a critical bug in Cloudflare which allowed sensitive data — like passwords, cookies and encryption keys — from many hosted websites to leak online.
Patreon, Y Combinator, Medium, 4chan, Yelp, OKCupid, Zendesk, Uber and 23and Me are among the most-important affected websites. This security issue is so important that it is now being referred to as cloudbleed.
The bug, which was discovered on February 17 according to Project Zero’s Tavis Ormandy and is now fixed, has caused the most damage between February 13 and February 18, according to Cloudflare, when about one in every 3,300,000 HTTP requests caused data to leak.
Ormandy says that the Project Zero team who analyzed the issue «observed encryption keys, cookies, passwords, chunks of POST data and even HTTPS requests for other major cloudflare-hosted sites from other users» in the samples of collected data. Cloudflare was notified on February 18 by Ormandy, via Twitter.
Cloudflare has provided a through incident report on its blog, which explains in depth what caused the bug and how it was fixed, so if you want to learn more about it you can check out this official post .
Cloudflare has a significant number of customers, so the list of affected websites (and apps) is quite substantial. A GitHub project has been set up to identify affected websites, based on data provided by Cloudflare and other resources, and you can check out the list here.
It should be noted that not all websites that use Cloudflare are affected by cloudbleed. The aforementioned GitHub project mentions that, for instance, Slack Overflow, is safe, and so are 1password and FastMail. In case you are wondering, BetaNews is not a Cloudflare customer, and, as such, is not affected by cloudbleed.

«Надежда Савченко вместе с Владимиром Рубаном прибыли в Макеевскую колонию для того, чтобы навестить украинских военнопленных», — сказал журналистам представитель военного ведомства ДНР.

The Truth About Australia-Indonesia South China Sea Patrols

A deeper look behind President Jokowi’s suggestion that he may discuss the proposal during his state visit to Australia.
On Friday, reports surfaced that Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo may raise the issue of joint patrols in the South China Sea with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull during his first state visit to the country over the weekend. Though both sides attach significance to the South China Sea issue and talk of such arrangements is not new to the bilateral relationship, one should also be careful when assessing what this could and could not mean.
First, it is no doubt that Jokowi and Turnbull will discuss the South China Sea issue amidst other regional security concerns as officials from both sides have done previously. Both Indonesia and Australia are significant and highly-capable actors in the Indo-Pacific. Though they are non-claimants in the South China Sea disputes – admittedly a more contested designation for Indonesia –  they do have equities in the broader issues at stake in the South China Sea including China’s maritime assertiveness and freedom of navigation (See: “ Indonesia’s South China Sea Policy: A Delicate Equilibrium ”). More broadly, maritime security is also one major area of cooperation between the two countries.
Second, talk of joint patrols isn’t exactly new in the context of the Australia-Indonesia relationship. Indeed, both countries already are engaged in combined patrols. The Australian Defense Force and Indonesian Armed Forces have been conducting coordinated maritime security patrols (AUSINDO CORPAT) since April 2010, and last March, the Australian Border Force (ABF) conducted a maritime security patrol with the Indonesian Coast Guard (BAKAMLA) which has just begun to take off under Jokowi (See: “ Indonesia’s Maritime Ambition: Can Jokowi Realize It? “).
Talk of joint patrols in the South China Sea is also not new. Indeed, the fourth iteration of the “2+2” dialogue between Indonesian and Australian foreign and defense ministers at the end of last year was overshadowed by Indonesian Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu’s suggestion that there could soon be bilateral patrols in the South China Sea (See: “ Indonesia-Australia Defense Relations in the Spotlight ”). At the time, Ryamizard told reporters that Jakarta had already suggested to Australia that both countries conduct joint patrols in the eastern part of the South China Sea, and that Canberra had “more or less agreed.” He added that he was sure “that we will soon create a plan on how to realize it.” Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop also indicated that both sides would discuss “coordinated activities” in the South China Sea and that this would be consistent with both countries’ exercise of their right to freedom of navigation.
This hype occurred ahead of Jokowi’s originally scheduled trip to Australia in early November last year, which was eventually postponed to February 2017 due to unrest in Jakarta over a blasphemy case against the Jakarta governor (See: “ The Trouble With Indonesia’s Ahok Test ”). It is no surprise to see this subject now dominate the headlines once again ahead of Jokowi’s rescheduled trip this time around as well.
Some may dismiss this as equivocation publicly masking Indonesia’s true resolve or demonstrating its ambivalence. But the broader point is that understanding what is said and not said is important because if not, Indonesia can be made to seem like it is sending a much bolder signal than it actually is. It also does the complexity of Indonesia’s South China Sea policy – which I’ve characterized previously as a “delicate equilibrium” – a great disservice, along with its broader foreign policy approach more generally (See: “ Indonesia’s South China Sea Policy: A Delicate Equilibrium ”).
Talking about patrols is also different from acting on them. We have often heard about joint patrols in the South China Sea between various actors – ranging from more plausible ones like the United States and Japan to less likely ones such as between ASEAN and China. Yet as I have noted before, even though developments like these often grab the headlines and could indeed be operationalized, they exist alongside stubborn realities such as the capabilities of various actors, their longstanding policies, and the interests of those institutions that formulate them.
Then there are the specifics that need to be ironed out to properly manage such engagements if they are to be followed through on, including where exactly they are being held, what the nature of the patrols are (joint, coordinated, or combined, which can all have important distinctions though they are used interchangeably), and how to communicate this to the wider public. And of course the reality that given the sensitivities involved in joint patrols in the South China Sea, what is hyped up may not necessarily be much, but what is going on quietly may actually matter significantly more.

North Korea ‘feels the heat’ from China’s renewed coal bans

Signs of a growing divide between communist neighbours as Beijing tightens sanctions against Pyongyang, analysts say
Pyongyang’s broadside against Beijing over China’s decision last week to suspend imports of North Korean coal this year has yet again laid bare a growing division between the two communist allies. State-controlled Korean Central News Agency, which has largely kept quiet over the past week, finally broke the embarrassing silence and slammed Beijing for colluding with “hostile forces in conspiracies to bring down” the North Korean regime. Such outbursts, according to diplomatic observers, are an unmistakable sign that the heat has been felt in Pyongyang. Beijing’s belated move to tighten international sanctions on the unruly North Korean leader Kim Jong-un followed a United Nations resolution in November. Although it was not the first time Beijing had taken steps to punish Pyongyang by cutting imports of coal, the country’s single biggest export and source of hard currency, it was widely seen as one of the toughest by far, signalling Beijing’s growing unease with its neighbour’s nuclear weapons programme. The last time China banned North Korean coal imports was in April last year, a month after UN Resolution 2270 was passed in response to Pyongyang’s fourth nuclear test and satellite launch. But that resolution contained an exception clause, allowing trade in North Korean coal for “livelihood purposes”. Thanks to the loophole, Beijing made exceptions for North Korean coal intended for household use, a move widely criticised by the United States and its allies as undermining the effectiveness of the resolution. Coal is estimated to take up as much as 40 per cent of North Korea’s exports to China, Pyongyang’s biggest trading partner. Last year, North Korea was China’s biggest supplier of high-grade anthracite coal, used mainly by the country’s steel mills, with imports reaching 22.4 million tonnes, up 14.5 per cent compared with 2015. The United Nations sought to plug this gap when it adopted Resolution 2321 on November 30 in the wake of a fifth nuclear test in September. This resolution set caps on North Korea’s coal exports by both volume and ­value. Despite the tough resolution, China’s coal imports from North Korea surged in December, according to date from Chinese customs. China imported 2 million tonnes worth US$168 million in December, exceeding the UN Security Council’s monthly limit by at least one million tonnes and nearly US$115 million. According to the most recent data, China imported 1.45 million tonnes from North Korea in January, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the annual UN quota of 7.5 million tonnes or US$400.9 million, whichever is smaller. On Friday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang vowed again that China would fully enforce UN Security Council resolutions, but nonetheless admitted that China has already approached the upper limits of coal imports from North Korea. “So because of this, we have stopped imports of coal from North Korea with a responsible attitude.” Beijing has repeatedly denied a link but many analysts have pointed out that China’s latest ban on North Korea coal imports came soon after Pyongyang’s first missile test this year and the assassination of Kim’s elder brother, Kim Jong-nam. Professor Lee Jung-nam, a China affairs expert at Korea University’s Asiatic Research Institute, said South Korean analysts generally believed Beijing was irritated by Kim Jong-nam’s death, seeing it as another blow to relations between the communist allies. Other analysts said the timing of Beijing’s action against Pyongyang was also linked to Beijing’s eagerness for closer ties with US President Donald Trump. “Apparently, North Korea plays an increasingly important role in Beijing’s ties with Washington as both sides seek to find new areas of common interest and cooperation,” said Cui Zhiying, a Korean ­affairs analyst at Shanghai’s Tongji University. But most observers cautioned that Beijing was unlikely to take further action to punish Pyongyang, such as banning oil supplies, for fear that the North Korean regime could be devastated.
