House Speaker Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez on Friday said Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa should resign after a Korean businessman was kidnapped and murdered inside Camp Crame.
“Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa should immediately resign as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to save President Rodrigo Duterte from further embarrassment and restore respect to the Office of the PNP Chief,” Alvarez said in a statement.
Former Hanjin executive Jee Ick Joo was abducted in October last year. Despite the payment of P5 million in ransom money, it was later revealed that he was strangled and killed by a group of policemen inside the PNP headquarters.
Alvarez said what happened was “not only an insult but a clear indication that he (Dela Rosa) has lost the respect of his people.”
“Social media like Youtube is now replete with the booboos of General Dela Rosa including his running away from a press conference like a headless chicken after the pyrotechnic device he was holding started to smoke,” the Speaker said.
Alvarez said it is difficult to believe Dela Rosa’s “stern statements” against criminals “when he was the first to run in the slightest possibility of danger.”
“General Dela Rosa seems more interested in having a showbiz career and in landing on society pages of newspapers” where he is shown “doing mundane things like singing videoke and watching concerts,” he said.
“Dela Rosa should buckle down to work or better yet give the job to someone else who is dead serious in leading the PNP in its multi-pronged war against drugs, criminals and the scalawags within its ranks,” Alvarez said.

Звезды шоубизнеса, поддерживавшие во время выборов Хилари Клинтон, отказались выступать на празднике. 50 конгрессменов заявили о бойкотировании инаугурации ( их отсутствие будет не таким заметным из-за наплыва украинских депутатов ). Несколько дней в США идут акции протеста. Но ничего из вышеперечисленного не изменит случившегося: сегодня, 20 января, Трамп прочитает присягу:

В 10 часов утра (в 17:00 по киевскому времени) Дональд Трамп и новый вице-президент Майк Пенс с женами прибудут в Белый дом. Их встретят действующий президент Барак Обама и вице-президент Джо Байден с супругами. Вместе они пройдут на чаепитие, которое продлится 15 минут.
10.30 — отъезд кортежей президентов и вице-президентов со свитой. Последним будет ехать автомобиль с Обамой и Трампом. Согласно протоколу, Обама будет сидеть в автомобиле справа, а Трамп – слева.
11.15 — на западной лестнице Капитолия начинается присяга вице-президента, которая закончится спичем новоизбранного президента США. После инаугурации прежний и новый президенты вместе возвратятся в Белый Дом. Трамп будет сидеть в автомобиле справа, а Обама – слева. По прибытию в президентскую резиденцию Обама садится в вертолет и улетает на военную базу Эндрюс.
В это же время Трамп на трибуне Белого Дома принимает инаугурационный парад, который проходит по Пенсильвания-авеню от Конгресса к Белому дому.

Открывать весеннюю часть сезона будут чемпионы и лидеры вместе со скромными парнями из «Фрайбурга». Команда Кристиана Штрайха, только вернувшаяся в высшую лигу, здорово провела первый круг и завершила его на восьмом месте. Однако уже понятно, что выше определенного потолка баденцам не подняться и за еврокубки не побороться. Скамейка у команды короткая, финансовые возможности невелики (никакого усиления этой зимой «Фрайбург» пока не получил), вылет двух-трех игроков основы сразу ведет к большим проблемам. Сейчас, после возвращения в строй опытного Нидермайера, кадровая ситуация почти идеальна – тревогу вызывает разве что Сейунджу. Турецкий центрбек получил повреждение в неудачном контрольном матче против «Брюгге» и до сих пор не восстановился. Штрайх еще надеется на выход Сейунджу, но вполне возможно, что именно турка заменит Нидермайер.
Кстати о контрольных матчах – большого оптимизма результаты «Фрайбурга» не вызывают. Победить удалось только слабый «Вадуц», а бельгийцам и голландцам из ПСВ команда Штрайха по делу уступила.
Какой контраст с «Баварией», успевшей в январе завоевать Telekom Cup! Правда, в процессе подготовки мюнхенцы понесли потери. В финале того самого «Телеком-кубка» получил повреждение Видаль и теперь может не сыграть против «Фрайбурга» (в этом случае ожидаем возвращения Киммиха в основу). Тиаго порвал мышцу бедра на катарских сборах и выбыл на несколько недель – под вопросом даже участие в первом матче с «Арсеналом». А Боатенг и Коман по-прежнему восстанавливаются после осенних травм. Кингсли еще пару недель проведет тренировки в облегченном режиме, вопрос о его готовности к завтрашнему матчу остается открытым. Также на прошлой неделе фанатов «Баварии» беспокоили «простудные» новости. Сразу трое игроков: Левандовски, Роббен и Мартинес – не выдержали перепада температур после теплой Дохи, но во вторник все они уже были здоровы и тренировались с командой. Вполне возможно, что поляк и испанец на «Шварцвальде» сыграют в основе. The Java API library provides interfaces solely to establish a system of ordering on the objects of a class. They can be imposed implicitly as its natural principle of ordering or explicitly appended to customize the order as per requirement. This principle of ordering relies on the meaningful comparison method as implemented by the classes. These interfaces are basically comparators: one provided in the java.lang library, and another in the java.util package called Comparable and Comparator , respectively.
This interface is a part of java.lang package. Many classes in the Java API library implement this interface, such as Byte, Character, Double, Float, Long, Short, String, Integer , and so forth. This enables a list of objects of these classes to be sorted automatically by the Collection.sort function. Implementation of this interface enables the objects of this class to be used as keys in a sorted map or elements in a sorted set without using any explicit comparators. Any class that wants to impose ordering on the objects implements this interface. It is a generic interface; and the most important method declared by it is:
This method determines the natural ordering of instances of a class. For example, the natural ordering of a String , Integer , or a Date is deemed to be in ascending order.
Output:
Observe how elements are automatically ordered alphabetically as per the natural ordering principle, from lowest to highest. We have not used the Comparable interface explicitly in the code. This ordering is possible because the String class implements the Comparable interface; the Set class just took advantage of it. There are numerous classes in the Java API library that implement this interface and use them where it makes sense.
We can customize the compareTo functionality in the following way.
What if we are required to compare two instances of a class that do not implement the Comparable interface? Also, Comparable imposes the natural ordering principle, which may not be appropriate under some other circumstances where we may not follow a predefined order sanctioned by the object. To handle these situations, Java provides another interface, called Comparator , defined in the java.util package. This interface enables us to write comparison code that is external to the class, in the following manner.

Observe how a class that was not initially designed keeping the paradigm of comparison in mind can still leverage the Comparator interface with a separate class. This means the Comparator interface gives the power to establish a comparison function without the slightest need to design a class accordingly. It can always be extended at a later point in time, or as needed.
There is another interesting aspect of the Comparator interface. It is a functional interface defined as follows:
And, like any other functional interface, it has exactly one abstract method representing a single function construct. Elaborating the definition and conceptual background of functional interface is out of the scope of this article; the interested reader may refer to the Java docs and Java Language Specification for a more in-depth view.
Using a functional interface empowers this interface to be used with lambda expressions, method references, and the constructor reference. It, however, can still work like any other interface, including its usage with anonymous classes, factory methods, normal implementation with classes, and so on.
Let’s find out how many different ways we can write the above code, some due to the power of the functional interface.

In Java, there are classes such as TreeSet or TreeMap of the Collection API library that store elements in a sorted order. This ordering of elements is actually defined by the comparators. The order imposed is called natural because we normally expect B to come after A or 2 to come after 1. This ascending ordering is typically expected with elements when arranged in a sequence, hence called the natural order. However, if we want to order elements in a different way or be based upon different logic, we should specify a Comparator during the construction of the classes. The functional interface annotation used with the Comparator interface is just for usage convenience with lambda expression.

Rom (dpa) — In dem von einer Lawine zerstörten italienischen Berghotel Rigopiano sind laut Medienberichten weitere Überlebende entdeckt worden. Eine Gruppe von fünf Personen sei unter den Trümmern gesichtet worden, meldete die Nachrichtenagentur Ansa unter Berufung auf die Feuerwehr. Die Retter hätten noch nicht bis zu ihnen vordringen können. Nach Angaben des Zivilschutzes wurden bis zum Mittag sechs Menschen aus Schutt und Schnee geborgen. Medien hatten zuvor von bis zu acht Überlebenden berichtet. Zwei Menschen wurden nach offiziellen Angaben tot geborgen.

Народный депутат Украины Мустафа Найем выезжал с парковки и врезался на своей машине в автомобиль, который стоял на другой стороне улицы. Об этом сообщил телеканал «112 Украина». Инцидент произошел непосредственно рядом с их зданием.
— Депутат выезжал с парковки и ударился в машину, стоявшую на противоположной стороне улицы. На данный момент выясняются подробности инцидента, — пишет издание.
Ранее имя Найема оказалось в списке из четырех депутатов , которые не сообщили о существенных изменениях в имущественном состоянии. Он не внес в декларацию автомобиль Honda Accord 2010 года за 364 тысячи гривен и также вовремя не сообщил об этом в Национальное агентство по противодействию коррупции.
Позже нардеп объяснил, что «Хонда» была не указана в электронной декларации из-за технического сбоя .

Суд Лондона завершил слушания по трехмиллиардному делу России и Украины

19 января в Высоком суде Лондона подошло к концу разбирательство по трехмиллиардному кредиту, выданному Россией Украине в последние дни президентства Виктора Януковича. Об этом сообщили ВВС.
Все это время Киев отказывался выплачивать эти средства на основании российской агрессии. Также украинская сторона настаивала на том, что данные средства были получены правительством Януковича под давлением.
История вопроса
В декабре 2013 года украинское правительство после договоренностей с экс-президентом Виктором Януковичем с президентом России Владимиром Путиным выпустило двухлетние еврооблигации на сумму в три миллиарда долларов. Облигации Украины выкупил Фонд национального благосостояния России. В РФ считают этот долг суверенным, то есть таким, которая Украина обязана заплатить как государство. В Киеве на эти евробонды смотрят как на коммерческий долг за который государство ответственности не несет. Российский министр финансов Антон Силуанов заявил в мае, что его страна потребует от Международного валютного фонда вычесть сумму долга из программы помощи Украине и предать на правительственные счета России.

Избранный президент Гамбии, оппозиционер Адама Барроу, сейчас находится на территории Сенегала. 19 января он принял присягу в посольстве.
Действующий лидер Гамбии — 51-летний Яйя Джамме — отказывается уходить с поста. Он правит страной уже больше 20 лет, с 1994 года.
О том, что войска Сенегала могут войти в Гамбию, сообщалось ранее. Армия страны находилась на готовности недалеко от границы.
В самой же Гамбии проигравший Яйя Джамме ввел чрезвычайное положение. Также он заявил, что «никто не отнимет у него победу, кроме Аллаха».

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15014 for PC and Mobile arrives on the Fast ring, and delivers yet more new features

Microsoft is aiming for April for the Windows 10 Creators Update, so is rushing out new builds for Insiders to try. Last week we got not one but two new releases on the Fast ring — Build 15002 , which introduced a wealth of changes and new features, and Build 15007 , which also introduced a fair amount of new functionality.
The latest release, Build 15014 fixes a ton of issues from the previous two builds, but also introduces some exciting new features.

New to this build, for PC and Mobile, is the ability to purchase ebooks in the Windows Store for reading in Microsoft Edge. This is for US Insiders only, for now. Purchased books will appear in the new Books library in Edge next to Favorites, History and so on.
If you’re forever running low on disk space the new build can help by automatically getting rid of files you don’t need — such as temp files and recycle bin contents. You’ll need to enable this feature which you’ll find in System > Storage Settings, and you can choose what to clean up.
In addition to that, for PC there’s a lighter shade for Cortana’s search box, and bigger text in Cortana notifications. You can pick your own custom accent color in Colors Settings. Some of the advanced Wi-Fi settings have been merged in this build, and there’s a new power slider on select Windows 10 devices that you can use to improve battery life. If you see the feature (many users won’t) you can play around with it but don’t expect to see any improvement as it’s not currently wired up to the performance/power settings (Microsoft just wants to show off how it looks).

Kyrie Irving scored 26 points, All-Star teammate LeBron James had 21 points and 15 assists, and the Cleveland Cavaliers looked more like themselves at home in a 118-103 win over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.
The Cavs were back in Quicken Loans Arena following a six-game road trip (their longest of the season) that concluded with an embarrassing 35-point loss at Golden State. But on their home floor, they had better offensive balance and ball movement while improving to 30-11 — the same record Cleveland had at the halfway point of its 2016 NBA championship season.
Channing Frye scored 18, Iman Shumpert 17 and James Jones 14 while filling in for star forward Kevin Love, still bothered by back spasms.
Tyson Chandler had 22 points and 16 rebounds, but the Suns lost for the fourth time in five games.
WIZARDS 113, KNICKS 110
NEW YORK (AP) — John Wall had 29 points and 13 assists, scoring Washington’s final four points in the last 32 seconds as the surging Wizards beat New York.
Otto Porter Jr. made six 3-pointers for the second straight night and added 23 points, but the Wizards needed big plays from Wall down the stretch to win their fourth in a row.
He made two free throws to put Washington back on top after New York had rallied to take a 110-109 lead, then rebounded Carmelo Anthony’s miss and left all the Knicks in his dust as he raced down the floor for a dunk with 13.7 seconds to play.
Anthony finished with 34 points but Wall stole the ball from Brandon Jennings to prevent the Knicks from attempting a 3-pointer that could have tied it.
HEAT 99, MAVERICKS 95
MIAMI (AP) — Goran Dragic had 32 points, Tyler Johnson scored 10 of his 23 in the fourth quarter and Miami topped Dallas.
Dragic shot 11 for 15 from the field and 4 of 4 from 3-point range. He also got a big offensive rebound in the final minute to extend a possession, and Johnson made a pair of free throws with 29.9 seconds left to give Miami an eight-point lead.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 points for Dallas, which had its season-best three-game winning streak snapped. The Mavericks went 1 for 8 from the field during a late stretch of the fourth quarter and never got the lead again.
SPURS 118, NUGGETS 104
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points, rookie Dejounte Murray added a season-high 24 and short-handed San Antonio overcame a pregame injury to Pau Gasol.
Denver’s three-game winning streak was snapped despite a career-high 35 points from Nikola Jokic.
Leonard had his fifth straight 30-point performance, right after learning he will start for the Western Conference in the All-Star Game for the second consecutive season.
The Spurs were unexpectedly without Gasol, Tony Parker and then coach Gregg Popovich. Gasol and Parker were both late scratches due to injury, and Popovich was ejected for the first time this season.
Gasol broke the ring finger on his left (non-shooting) hand when he jammed it against Kyle Anderson’s shoulder during pregame warmups while attempting a running hook. The veteran center immediately clutched his hand and left the court.
X-rays revealed the break, and the Spurs said there is no timeline for Gasol’s return.
Murray started in place of Parker, who sat out with a sprained left foot.
