According to a new report out from Korea, the Galaxy A8 (2018), the Galaxy A8+ (2018), and the LG K8 (2018) might debut at CES 2018 in January.
According to a new report out of South Korea, Samsung might showcase the recently announced smartphones, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Galaxy A8+ (2018), at the CES 2018 expo in January. Besides this, the report also suggests that LG is planning to launch it’s new offering, the LG K8 (2018), at CES. The Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) were in the news from the past few days, but we are hearing about the K8 (2018) for the first time. The Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) come with 18:9 Infinity Displays, Bixby voice assistant, Samsung Pay, and water resistance.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with an aspect ration of 18:9. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset along with 4GB or 6GB RAM. The handset also comes in 32GB and 64GB storage variants, allowing users to expand the storage by up to an additional 256GB via a microSD card slot. On the other hand, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) sports a larger 6-inch Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It uses the same Exynos 7885 chipset, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB internal storage, as used by the Galaxy A8+ (2018).
Both the smartphones have similar imaging chops, featuring a 16MP+8MP dual-camera setups at the front and a 16MP cameras at the rear. They come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with Bixby Voice, rear-facing fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.0, dust and water resistant, a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and the split-screen multitasking mode. Both phones also feature Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) for mobile payments through Samsung Pay. The Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) come packed with 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries, respectively, with Adaptive Fast Charge.
The LG K8 (2018) will be the successor to the K8 (2017), and could sport a 5.3-inch 1080p IPS LCD display. It might pack 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage (expandable via microSD card), 13MP main camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. The whole package is supposed to be powered by a 3000mAh battery and the device is also supposed to get access to FM Radio. LG might announce, the K10 (2018), at the end of next month. LG has not sent out any launch invites as of now, but we might see a few teasers by the brand in the next few days, if the device is to be released soon.
