(Newser) – 60 Minutes is sharing details of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen’s complaints to the Securities and Exchange Commission, including her claim that the social network stoked political division by steering conservative-leaning users toward conspiracy theories. One of at least eight complaints, titled „Facebook misled investors and the public about its role perpetuating misinformation and violent extremism relating to the 2020 election and January 6th insurrection,“ refers to Facebook research showing test accounts following „verified/high quality conservative pages“ including those of Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and Fox News.
