(Newser) – 60 Minutes is sharing details of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen’s complaints to the Securities and Exchange Commission, including her claim that the social network stoked political division by steering conservative-leaning users toward conspiracy theories. One of at least eight complaints, titled « Facebook misled investors and the public about its role perpetuating misinformation and violent extremism relating to the 2020 election and January 6th insurrection, » refers to Facebook research showing test accounts following « verified/high quality conservative pages » including those of Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and Fox News.
