Note that it takes up to eight hours to charge the battery and that can only be achieved via a proprietary charger. Sadly, it doesn’t carry a USB Type-C connector – which makes it useless for newer laptops – and you won’t be able to lug it around on the plane (as with the previous two peripherals, the massive capacity here may mean it’s banned on some flights).
Capable, powerful battery charger
Sandberg’s Powerbank is neither the cheapest nor the most powerful around. However, it does come with a couple of features that make it a rather enticing option. It outputs to a number of voltages (12V, 16V, 19V and 20V), automatically choosing the right one depending on the device which is connected.
There are also two USB ports and these are obviously hardwired to output 5V on both. You get 12 different charge tips but sadly none would fit our Dell XPS 13, and they won’t be useful for USB Type-C models like the XPS 13 from 2016.
There are a couple of things that differentiate this from most of its rivals: it uses a brushed, premium aluminium finish, with bright blue LED status lights that clearly indicate the amount of juice left (or how close the battery is to being charged).
A charger with a unique feature
If you are looking for a versatile laptop charger, then do consider this RavPower offering. It is by far the most expensive model on our list, but this Reddot award winner carries a feature that no one has replicated till now. It has an AC output that can deliver up to 100W of power – yes, this could even power a TV if needed.
Note that you will probably need an adaptor (there’s one bundled) because the power bank can only accommodate two-prong plugs. You will be able to take it on a commercial flight, but you will not be able to recharge it via USB.
Great if you have a new Dell laptop
Dell sells the Power Companion with various battery capacities. It is more compact than the RAVPower models, and the unit looks like a Dell power brick that charges your laptop. When you’re at your desk, you can daisy-chain to recharge the Power Companion and your Dell laptop by connecting your Dell charging brick to the Power Companion, and then connecting it to your notebook.

Сегодня в Торонто завершились престижные международные соревнования среди ветеранов боевых действий, в которых Украина получила 14 медалей.
Украинская сборная непокоренных везет домой 14 медалей, передает „Диалог. UA“ со ссылкой на издание „Новое Время“.
По результатам состязаний, украинцы получили 8 золотых, 4 серебряные и 2 золотые медали.
Стоит отметить, что Украина впервые участвует в „Играх непокоренных“. При этом наша команда дыла одной из самых малочисленных среди участников. В нее вошли всего 15 человек.
Предлагаем вспомнить, кто принес Украине столь желанные награды.
Первую бронзовую медаль принес 29-летний офицер Национальной полиции из Луцка Сергей Торчинский на соревнованиях по толканию ядра.
Впоследствии Олег Зимников победил в беге на 1500 метров и завоевал первое золото.
Серебряную медаль завоевал 29-летний Александр Ткаченко из Чернигова на дистанции 400 метров.
Вторую з олотую медаль на Играх Непокоренных завоевал Василий Пашкевич по пауэрлифтингу.
Украинец Вадим Свириденко завоевал бронзовую медаль по гребле на тренажерах в категории IR1.
Капитан сборной Украины Александр Писаренко завоевал золото в гребле на тренажерах.
Роман Панченко получил для Украины золотую медаль.
Серебро в командном зачете Украина принесли лучники Екатерина Михайлова, Роман Панченко и Валерий Рак, совсем немного уступив сборной Канады, заняла первое место.
Еще одно серебро завоевал лучник Дмитрий Сидорук.
Павел Будаевский получил сразу четыре золотые медали, став первым в заплывах на четыре различные дистанции: 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke и на дорожке 100m Freestyle.

Niemiecka policja zatrzymała szantażystę, który groził, że umieści w supermarketach zatrute artykuły spożywcze, jeśli nie dostanie od sieci handlowych ponad 10 mln euro. 55-latka namierzono po sygnałach
W poszukiwaniach groźnego szantażysty – po opublikowaniu nagrania z monitoringu – pomogły policji setki osób. Złapano go w piątek po południu w Ofterdinge. Prokuratura jeszcze w sobotę postara się o wydanie nakazu aresztowania – dowiedziała się dpa.
Szantażysta w połowie września wysłał maila do policji, koncernów handlowych i organizacji konsumenckich. Groził, że do soboty umieści w sklepach – w Niemczech i innych krajach UE – 20 produktów żywnościowych zawierających truciznę, jeżeli nie otrzyma okupu w wysokości kilkunastu milionów euro. Zapowiedział, że chce zaatakować przedstawicielstwa niemieckich koncernów żywnościowych w całym kraju i za granicą.
Mężczyzna jest uważany za „szczególnie podejrzanego“; podejrzenie, że to on dopuścił się próby szantażu, umocniło się – podkreśliły we wspólnym oświadczeniu policja i prokuratura w kraju związkowym Badenia-Wirtembergia na południowym zachodzie Niemiec. Sprawca nie zabrał jeszcze głosu ws. oskarżeń.
Na półkach supermarketów nie ma zatrutej żywności, ale policjant Markus Sauter apeluje do konsumentów o ostrożność. Pięć butelek z żywnością dla dzieci pozostawionych przez przestępcę stanowiło dla nich smiertelne zagrożenie. Na szczęście zostały znalezione.

По словам Петрука, не исключено, что статья, по
которой расследуется авиакатастрофа учебного самолета, будет переквалифицирована.
Но только после того, как следствие установит все обстоятельства и причины
смертельной трагедии.
Напомним, что по одной из версий следствия к
падению самолета могло привести „воздействие внешнего фактора“.
Также были обнародованы свидетельства очевидцев крушения Л-39 и жуткие кадры с места чрезвычайного происшествия.

Apple Watch 3 returned: There are better LTE and fitness-focused watches

The Apple Watch Series 3 is a very good smartwatch for iPhone users, but daily charging, chunky design, and iOS limitation forced me to return it after a week.
It’s not me and it’s not really Apple, it’s the state of most smartwatches today.
A couple of years ago I wrote that the Apple Watch was the best Apple product I’ve ever purchased. Yesterday, I sent my Apple Watch Series 3 back to Apple after a week and no longer have an Apple Watch in my collection.
A few days ago, I wrote about my experiences running with the Apple Watch 3 and Samsung Gear S3 Frontier. As you can see in that post, the Gear S3 Frontier offers more than the Apple Watch, with a bit shorter battery life. The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier works with iOS and Android, has classic watch styling and design, is stainless steel with a fantastic design, has a rotating bezel and OS optimized for the watch, and works on LTE with no real limitations.
I have also now spent about three weeks with the new Fitbit Ionic and it is refreshing to charge it up about once a week. It’s smartwatch capability is very limited, but it offers what I need for fitness, onboard music, detailed sleep tracking, a large community of family and friends to help motivate me, and a sleek design that looks great while essentially disappearing on my wrist for days.
Battery life has always been the deciding factor on whether or not a wearable stays on my wrist or ends up in a drawer. The Apple Watch Series 3 has a great battery life, for a high end smartwatch that is doing a lot. However, charging daily gets to be too much for me after a period of time any anything that cannot at least get me through a weekend of running, yard work, fly fishing, and entertainment ends up off of my wrist.
I may get an iPhone X just because it’s the first time since the first iPhone launched that Apple is bringing us a new phone product and maybe I will revisit the Apple Watch Series 3 again. In the meantime, the Fitbit Ionic, the Garmin Fenix 3 HR, or maybe another new Garmin will likely be found on my wrist the majority of the time.

Возникновения очагов пожаров и неконтролируемые взрывы не наблюдаются на территории военного склада возле Калиновки Винницкой области. Об этом сообщает пресс-центр Государственной службы Украины по чрезвычайным ситуациям.
Однако в ходе работы тяжелой инженерной техники военных групп, которые занимаются разминированием, случаются подрывы отдельных взрывоопасных предметов под минными тралами.
Спасатели добавили, что это является штатной ситуацией во время работы на местности, где находятся взрывоопасные предметы, и не представляет угрозы для жителей.
Также сообщается, что в результате взрывов никто не погиб, но два человека были ранены, их доставили в больницы.
Как сообщал MIGnews.com.ua ранее, детонация боеприпасов до сих пор наблюдается на военных складах возле Калиновки в Винницкой области.
Напомним, что главный военный прокурор Украины Анатолий Матиос во время брифинга озвучил основные версии причин взрывов на военных складах в Калиновке Винницкой области.
В то же время Служба безопасности Украины рассматривает четыре версии взрывов на складах с боеприпасами под Калиновкой Винницкой области.

US President Donald Trump is seeking a new health secretary to take the place of Tom Price, who stepped down following an outcry over flying on costly private charters for official travel.
The Health and Human Services chief oversees a 1 trillion US dollars department, with 80,000 employees and jurisdiction over major insurance programmes, advanced medical research, drug and food safety, public health, and disease prevention.
The administration will also have to contend with renewed scrutiny of Cabinet members‘ travel. Following news reports about Mr Price, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee launched a government-wide investigation of travel by top political appointees.
Mr Trump has named Don J Wright, a deputy assistant secretary of health, to serve as acting secretary.
Mentioned as a possible permanent successor to Mr Price is Seema Verma, a protege of Vice President Mike Pence. She now leads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, an HHS division which runs health insurance programmes covering more than 130 million Americans.
Ms Verma’s immediate challenge is to manage the 2018 open enrolment season under the Obama-era Affordable Care Act, which Mr Trump and the Republican-led Congress have been unable to repeal.
Another possible HHS candidate is FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, who won some bipartisan support in his confirmation and is well known in policy, government and industry circles.
Mr Price, 62, a former GOP congressman from the Atlanta suburbs, resigned on Friday afternoon. His pattern of costly trips triggered investigations which overshadowed the administration’s agenda and angered his boss. His regrets and a partial repayment could not save his job.
Mr Price became the first member of Mr Trump’s Cabinet to be pushed out in a turbulent young administration that has seen several high-ranking White House aides ousted. He served less than eight months.
On Friday Mr Trump called Mr Price a „very fine person“, but added „I certainly don’t like the optics“ around his travels.
Mr Price said in his resignation letter that he regretted that „recent events have created a distraction“.
Privately, Mr Trump was reported to have been telling associates in recent days that Mr Price was overshadowing his tax overhaul agenda and undermining his campaign promise to „drain the swamp“ of corruption.
Mr Price’s repayment of 51,887.31 US dollars (£38,715) for his own travel costs did not placate the White House. The total travel cost, including the secretary’s entourage, could amount to several hundred thousand dollars.
An orthopaedic surgeon turned politician, Mr Price rose to Budget Committee chairman in the House, where he was known as a fiscal conservative. When he joined the administration, Mr Trump touted him as a conservative policy expert who could write a new healthcare Bill to replace the Obama-era Affordable Care Act.
But Mr Price became more of a supporting player in the GOP’s futile healthcare campaign, while Vice President Mike Pence took the lead, particularly with the Senate. The perception of Mr Price jetting around while Republican politicians laboured to repeal the Obama health law – including a three-nation trip in May to Africa and Europe – raised eyebrows on Capitol Hill. Mr Price flew on military aircraft overseas.
But House Speaker Paul Ryan said on Friday that Mr Price had worked hard to help that chamber pass its plan before the GOP effort reached an impasse in the Senate. „I will always be grateful for Tom’s service to this country,“ he said.
Democrats were glad to see Mr Price go, and some urged Mr Trump to appoint an HHS secretary who would reach out to them.
„I hope President Trump learns from this mistake, and looks to appoint someone who can work in a bipartisan way to strengthen health care for all Americans,“ said Republican Frank Pallone.
Mr Price used private charter flights on 10 trips with multiple segments, when in many cases cheaper commercial flights were available. His charter travel was first reported by the news site Politico.
The controversy was a catalyst for Congress launching a bipartisan probe of travel by political appointees across the administration. The House oversight committee has requested travel records from the White House and 24 federal departments and agencies.
Initially, Mr Price’s office said the secretary’s busy scheduled forced him to use charters from time to time. But later his response changed, and he said he had heard the criticism and concern, and taken it to heart.
