Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the woman behind Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual misconduct allegation, has put forward her conditions for testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
CBS News obtained the email sent by Ford’s attorneys, noting it would be a deal breaker to have Ford testify on the scheduled time for Monday:
Many have stated that some of the demands seem absurd, particularly the requirement that Kavanaugh testify first so he is unable to response to Ford’s testimony:

Wait, no questions from lawyers? What’s the possible explanation for that? https://t.co/6wB6CBAsnp

How the hell is the accused supposed to testify first when he hasn’t even heard the details of the allegation from the alleged victim? https://t.co/21zoJovB7b

Ridiculous. In a court room, women are required to face their alleged attackers and the accused have a right to face their accuser. She should testify with him in the room. Yes, it is difficult. It is also just. https://t.co/hSWEfsQFxP

As per usual with Ford’s attorney, they are going for the Impossible Ask, a request no reasonable side could ever agree to. In this case, the poison pill is her going second and him going first. That inverts every principle in the book (no chance to rebut accusations). https://t.co/F23cFP8Plp

“The committee invited Dr. Ford for bipartisan interview by Republican and Democratic staff to obtain her testimony and any evidence she considers relevant,” the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Twitter account posted on Thursday. “First reached out on Monday, but her lawyers haven’t agreed to an interview.”
“Her attorneys say there needs to be an investigation, which is exactly what the committee has been doing all week. And we would love to hear from Dr. Ford. Democratic staff is invited to participate fully every step of the way,” the accounted added.
