After weeks of waiting, Jam City finally updates Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery to include the long-awaited Year 5 Chapter 3, which includes the History of Magic class.
After weeks of waiting, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has finally added Year 5 Chapter 3 to the game. This means that players can continue their Hogwarts adventures, take a brand new class, meet a new friend, and more.
Upon downloading the latest update for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players will need to redo the last part of Year 5 Chapter 2. Afterwards, they will then be able to visit the Kitchens to do their detention, which marks the first time that Hogwarts Mystery players have been able to visit the Kitchens in the game. It’s here that players will meet Jae Kim, one of the potential new friends that is added in Year 5.
The Year 5 Chapter 3 story is broken up into four parts, and it’s unclear if Jam City added Year 5 Chapter 4 or other chapters as well. Besides the new story content, players can also complete two new classes, including their very first History of Magic class. History of Magic is a unique class in the game because it’s taught by Professor Binns, who never made an appearance in the films, and is actually a ghost.
The addition of Year 5 Chapter 3 to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is significant because fans have been waiting weeks for the new content. It also gives players their first taste of History of Magic, introduces them to a new friend in Jae Kim, and lets them explore a brand new area, the Kitchens. Overall, it’s one of the most significant updates to the game since Year 5 started last month.
In the meantime, the addition of Year 5 Chapter 3 is advantageous for other reasons. Right now, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is in the midst of a Halloween event that lets players unlock some exclusive rewards, including a new cosmetic item and some notebooks. Notebooks a brand new currency added to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery that players can exchange for magical pets and new pet looks, and since they’re so hard to come by, participating in the event is important. The new story content added in Year 5 Chapter 3 will make it much easier to get stars and complete the event, so that’s definitely a plus.
Of course, players can also keep helping Dumbledore decorate Hogwarts for Halloween to complete the Halloween event if they so wish. Previously, it was believed that this was a one-time thing, but players can actually keep visiting the Great Hall and repeating the event for four crests a pop.
Between the Halloween event and the addition of Year 5 Chapter 3 story content, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players currently have plenty to do in the game.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
