The attack left Diallo’s Paris St.-Germain teammate unable to play in a championship game.
French police arrested Aminata Diallo of the Paris St.-Germain (PSG) women’s soccer team on Wednesday in connection with an investigation into an attack on one of her teammates. The teammate, Kheira Hamraoui, was pulled from a car last Thursday by masked men who beat her legs with iron bars. PSG confirmed that Diallo was taken into police custody, but the club did not name the alleged victim. On the night of the attack, Hamraoui had accepted a ride in Diallo’s car with two other PSG teammates after leaving a team dinner in Paris. After they arrived at Hamraoui’s home, two men wearing balaclavas pulled Hamraoui from the car and hit her on the legs for about two minutes, French sports newspaper L’Équipe reported. The two men escaped following the assault, and Hamraoui was taken to a hospital.
