Update,7:05 p.m.: As speakers continued to talk to a group gathered at Cincinnati City Hall Thursday evening, a vigil was set to begin in front of police headquarters.

Thursday was the seventh day of protests in Cincinnati following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. A coroner there ruled his death a homicide. In a widely circulated video, a Minneapolis Police officer can be seen kneeling on Floyd’s neck while he says he can’t breathe.
That officer and three others have been charged. Protests have taken place across the country since Floyd’s death with some turning violent. In Cincinnati, police in riot gear have deployed tear gas, pepper balls and pepper spray to disperse crowds on previous nights.
There were no arrests at demonstrations in Cincinnati Wednesday night.
Update,6:07 p.m.: After a short delay, a news conference held on the steps of Cincinnati City Hall organized by activists resumed and recommendations from the Cincinnati Black United Front and the Ohio Justice and Policy Center on policy reform were read to the crowd.
