The 6800 XT will arrive for $649 while the 6800 will go for $579. On Dec. 18, AMD then plans on launching the 6900 XT, a $999 graphics card.
The RX 6800 XT(Credit: AMD) AMD’s “Big Navi” graphics cards land on Nov.18, starting with the Radeon RX 6800 and 6800 XT, before the company unleashes the heavy-hitter RX 6900 XT on Dec.8. The products arrive to counter Nvidia’s RTX 3000 graphics cards. And according to AMD, the new Radeon GPUs pose a competitive threat. The company has upgraded its 7-nanometer graphics technology to deliver more bandwidth, reduce the latency, and boost the performance-per-watt by 54 percent, thanks to the next-generation RDNA 2 architecture. Through DirectX 12 support, AMD’s new cards can also generate ray-tracing for better lighting and shadow effects in games, akin to what Nvidia’s RTX series can currently do. Here are the specs for the three AMD cards compared against Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series. As you can see, AMD’s models all have higher boost clock speeds and 16GB of memory, but with GDDR6. Nvidia’s, on the other hand, tap the faster GDDR6X.
