Galaxy S24 owners are not happy about dull and muted screen

0

Early Galaxy S24 buyers are complaining that there’s no way to achieve the same vibrancy as seen in previous models.
Samsung allows you to customize the color settings on its phones but early adopters have noticed that that one screen mode is not working the way it should on the Galaxy S24.
For those who want their display to look vibrant, Samsung advises switching the screen mode from Natural — which displays accurate colors —  to Vivid. On earlier Samsung phones, the difference was visible when Vivid was chosen, but on the Galaxy S24, there’s hardly any change, per complaints on Reddit and X.
On the Galaxy S24, switching to Vivid doesn’t make the screen look more saturated or rich, which is a turn-off for users who find Natural dull and washed out.
It’s not that Natural, which is the standard display mode, makes everything look muted. It aims to show accurate, true-to-life colors, to make everything look natural. It’s also easier on the eyes, especially when you are staring at the screen for long periods.
The vivid mode improves the brightness, contrast, and sharpness and also makes the screen more visible outdoors.
If you think that your Galaxy S24 Series display is too dull & muted, @NasiLemakTech might have revealed why.
It appears that the dull-looking display on the Galaxy S24 Series is all because of a software bug.

Samsung notes on its website that software versions could affect the settings and that seems to be the case here. The issue seems related to One UI 6.1 and one Reddit user says that Samsung is aware of the problem and will fix it with a software update.
The Galaxy S24 series will officially go on sale tomorrow, though some units have shipped early. Regardless, it’s a relief for potential buyers that the vivid mode glitch is not tied to the hardware and Samsung is already working on a fix. Previously, some rumors had said that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s anti-glare coating, which happens to be one of the best features of the phone, was causing the issue.

One of the 2010s best shooters has been taken off the Steam Store

Spec Ops: The Line is no longer available to purchase on the platform.
Spec Ops: The Line released back in 2012 and for many gamers it was an entirely different shooter from what they were used to. Instead of just including bombastic action and portraying the all-American heroes as the perfect badasses, instead we got a story that had us wondering if there were even any „good guys“ at all by the end.
Now, to the shock of many, the game has been delisted on Steam. So far, there has been no official explanation given, but this does feel strange as it happened completely out of the blue with no warning. There are some comments speculating towards a music license expiring, but we’ll have to wait on official word until we can confirm if that’s true or not.
If you’re just hearing about this game via this news, don’t worry, as it can still be picked up on the Xbox Store and some other 3rd-party stores for PC. It’s possible that it will return to Steam in time, too.
Have you played Spec Ops: The Line and what did you think of it?

Pakistan court sentences former PM Imran Khan to 10 years for revealing state secrets, his party calls case a ‘sham’

0

The case pertains to allegations Khan made public the contents of a secret cable sent by the country’s ambassador in Washington to the government in Islamabad.
A Pakistani court on Tuesday sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and one of his party deputies to 10 years in prison each, after finding them guilty of revealing official secrets.
The case pertains to allegations that Khan had made public the contents of a secret cable sent by the country’s ambassador in Washington to the government in Islamabad.
Khan’s party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said both Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had been sentenced to 10 years each by a special court.
It said the party would challenge the decision and called it a “sham case”.
“We don’t accept this illegal decision,” Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjutha posted on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
Khan is alleged to have waved a confidential document – a classified cable – at a rally after he was toppled. The document – dubbed Cipher – has not been made public by either the government or Khan’s lawyers, but was apparently diplomatic correspondence between the Pakistani ambassador to Washington and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
Khan says the cable was proof of a conspiracy by the Pakistani military and US government to topple his government in 2022 after he visited Moscow just before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Washington and the Pakistan military deny the accusations.
The former prime minister previously said the contents of the cable appeared in the media from other sources.
It is the second conviction for the embattled former cricket star in recent months. He was previously sentenced to three years in a corruption case. While his jail term was suspended as he challenged the corruption conviction, it had already ruled him out of the country’s general elections next week.
The latest development comes ahead of the February 8 parliamentary elections in Pakistan – a vote that Khan is barred from running in because of his previous criminal conviction.
Although Khan will not be on the ballot for the election, he remains a potent political force because of his grass roots following and anti-establishment rhetoric. He says the legal cases against him were a plot to sideline him ahead of the vote.
Khan was prime minister from 2018 to 2022 — when he was ousted in a no confidence vote after losing the backing of the nation’s military kingmakers.
As opposition leader, he waged an unprecedented campaign of defiance against the top brass, accusing them of ousting him in a US-backed conspiracy and of plotting an assassination attempt which wounded him.
Khan was briefly arrested last May, and Islamabad used the resulting unrest to justify a sweeping crackdown on PTI, which has seen many senior leaders defect or go underground.
Pakistan struggles to secure IMF bailout as military intervention rears its head
Khan has been fighting dozens of cases since he was ousted from power.
Pakistan has seen violent demonstrations since Khan’s May 2023 arrest. Authorities have cracked down on his supporters and party since then.
Pakistan’s independent human rights commission has said there is little chance of a free and fair parliamentary election next month because of “pre-poll rigging.” It also expressed concern about authorities rejecting the candidacies of Khan and senior figures from his party.

BJP slams Kharge’s ‘last election’ remark, says polls will be end of dynastic politics

Hitting back at Kharge for his last election barb, BJP said dynastic politics under the garb of democracy is coming to an end in the country
Hitting back at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for his “last election” barb, the BJP on Tuesday said dynastic politics under the garb of democracy is coming to an end in the country and emergence of true democracy is in the offing.
Kharge on Monday had expressed apprehension that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections would be the last opportunity for the people to save democracy, and “If Narendra Modi wins another election, there will be dictatorship in the country. The BJP will rule India like Putin in Russia.”
Slamming Kharge for the remarks, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “Dynastic politics under the garb of democracy is coming to an end, and they are wondering what will be their future”.
“Whether it is Abdullah and Mufti families in Jammu and Kashmir, or Badals in Punjab, Hooda family in Haryana, all of them lost elections. Ashok Gehlot’s son also lost, Akhilesh Yadav’s wife lost election, in Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter lost election… or the biggest symbol of dynastic politics Rahul Gandhi lost election,” Trivedi said.
“Whatever Kharge ji is saying, the real meaning is dynastic politics under the garb of democracy has been totally discarded by voters in the last election….and the true emergence of true democracy is in the offing”.
Trivedi asserted that “only two prime ministers were elected democratically in India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi.
Trivedi said Jawaharlal Nehru was first elected as prime minister with “zero votes”.
He said in April 1946, at the Congress Working Committee meeting, out of 16 Congress committees, all votes except two went to Vallabhbhai Patel.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh was chosen as PM by the Congress president and not elected by people, he said.
“Did Indira Gandhi come to power through votes? No, she first became the prime minister by an internal decision of the Congress,” he said, adding Rajiv Gandhi became the prime minister as he got sympathy after his mother Indira Gandhi’s death.

Elon Musk's Neuralink implants brain chip in first human

0

The first human patient has received an implant from brain-chip startup Neuralink on Sunday and is recovering well, the company’s billionaire founder Elon Musk said.
„Initial results show promising neuron spike detection,“ Musk said in a post on the social media platform X on Monday.
Spikes are activity by neurons, which the National Institute of Health describes as cells that use electrical and chemical signals to send information around the brain and to the body.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration had given the company clearance last year to conduct its first trial to test its implant on humans, a critical milestone in the startup’s ambitions to help patients overcome paralysis and a host of neurological conditions.
In September, Neuralink said it received approval for recruitment for the human trial.
The study uses a robot to surgically place a brain-computer interface (BCI) implant in a region of the brain that controls the intention to move, Neuralink said previously, adding that its initial goal is to enable people to control a computer cursor or keyboard using their thoughts alone.
The implants‘ „ultra-fine“ threads help transmit signals in participants‘ brains, Neuralink has said.
The first product from Neuralink would be called Telepathy, Musk said in a separate post on X.
The startup’s PRIME Study is a trial for its wireless brain-computer interface to evaluate the safety of the implant and surgical robot.
Neuralink did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for further details.
The company has faced calls for scrutiny regarding its safety protocols. Reuters reported earlier this month that the company was fined for violating U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) rules regarding the movement of hazardous materials.
The company was valued at about $5 billion last June, but four lawmakers in late November asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether Musk had misled investors about the safety of its technology after veterinary records showed problems with the implants on monkeys included paralysis, seizures and brain swelling.
Musk wrote in a social media post on Sept. 10 that „no monkey has died as a result of a Neuralink implant.“ He added that the company chose „terminal“ monkeys to minimise risk to healthy ones.

Świrski dostał wezwanie do zapłaty.

Właśnie wysłał do Świrskiego wezwanie do zapłaty.
24 stycznia Daniel Gorgosz, likwidator TVP, wysłał pismo do Macieja Świrskiego, szefa KRRiT. Wezwał go do „natychmiastowego przekazania należnych Telewizji Polskiej S.A. w likwidacji wpływów z opłat abonamentowych w łącznej kwocie 38 760 000 zł (słownie: trzydzieści osiem milionów siedemset sześćdziesiąt tysięcy złotych)“.
Likwidator Radia Gdańsk wystosował do Świrskiego wezwanie do zapłaty zaległych dwóch transz pieniędzy.
„Likwidator Radia Gdańsk wezwał Macieja Świrskiego, przewodniczącego Krajowej Rady Radiofonii i Telewizji, do zapłaty zaległych środków na realizację misji publicznej w kwocie 1,14 miliona złotych. Rachunki trzeba płacić Panie Świrski“ – skomentowała ten fakt posłanka KO Agnieszka Pomaska.

Dschungelcamp 2024: David Odonkor bekam nicht genug Anrufe

0

„Könnt ihr euch bitte was anziehen?“
