Mariah Carey shrugs off New Year's Eve lip-synch meltdown: 'S*** happens'

0

NewsHubMariah Carey shrugged off an awkward, botched New Year’s Eve performance plagued by technical difficulties early Sunday, observing: “S*** happens. ”
The singer struggled through her Times Square appearance that was aired on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” on ABC.
She was the headline act at the event, where about a million revelers were ushering in 2017.
Carey stopped lip-synching to her song “Emotions,” paced the stage and told the audience to finish the lyrics for her. “I’m trying to be a good sport here,” she told the crowd.
Later, the visibly unhappy singer abruptly left the stage.
A representative for Carey confirmed to The Associated Press there were technical difficulties.
The star later posted on Twitter and Instagram, saying: “S*** happens. Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017. ”

Wireless AirPod-style earbuds coming with the Samsung Galaxy S8

0

NewsHubAnything Apple can do, Samsung usually has a good go at doing too, and it looks like wireless earbuds could be appearing with this year’s Galaxy S8 right after turning up on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
The usually reliable SamMobile reports on a tip-off that Samsung is working on new AirPod-style earbuds of its own to launch alongside the phone in a few months, though as yet it’s not clear if they’ll be bundled with the handset or offered as an optional accessory.
The company already makes the Gear Icon X set, but these will be a new line, source say. Also up in the air is a decision on whether the Galaxy S8 will ditch the 3.5mm audio jack or not – apparently some prototypes still include the port while others don’t.
That’s just about all we know about these wireless earbuds right now, and they don’t even have a catchy name yet. Samsung recently bought audio company Harman, so we may see some of that acquired technology and expertise appear in the new wireless gadget.
The South Korean company has also announced that it’s unveiling a host of high-end audio gear at the CES expo next week, including a wireless speaker and a sound bar. It’s unlikely that the new headphones are ready to be shown off yet, but it’s possible.
So we can add wireless earbuds to the list of features we’re expecting from the Samsung Galaxy S8 – a list that already includes a 4K screen, 6GB of RAM, an iris scanner and maybe a curved screen. The phone is expected to launch anywhere between February and April.

Best new tech coming in 2017

NewsHubCapcom is reinventing its venerable horror franchise with its latest entry, which is switching to first-person and stripping back combat to amp up the terror. The playable demo alone was just about the scariest game released in 2016, so we can only imagine the full thing will be a lot tougher going. Oh, and it’s going to be compatible with PlayStation VR too, to amp it up even further.

Kaby Lake is Intel’s newest generation of processors for destkops and laptops. Intel has confirmed they support Thunderbolt 3 and the special cameras used for Windows Hello. Also expect expanded capabilities for 4K video playback, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 support, as well as the ability to decode 10-bit HEVC videos.
Kaby Lake will be compatible with the existing 100-series chipsets, so it’ll be an easy upgrade from Skylake, assuming manufacturers provide BIOS updates for the new chips. However, whether it will be a worthwhile upgrade is still to be confirmed.

LG is rumoured to ditch its modular design for the G6 and potentially adopt a new glass front and rear. In common with the Samsung Galaxy S-series with which it competes it is likely to feature fast wireless charging and see a processor and graphics bump to ready the phone for VR.
One of the most interesting rumours about the LG G6 is that it will feature a new type of iris scanner that uses the same sensor as the phone’s front camera, a space- and cost-saving measure that is made possible through use of a special filter.

Bezel-less, curved-edge displays are about to become the norm for the upcoming Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. With a lot to make up for in the wake of the discontinued Galaxy Note 7, Samsung will go all out on its upcoming flagship smartphones.
Expect a Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 8GB of RAM, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, new USB-C audio (bye-bye headphone jack), a fingerprint scanner integrated to the screen and new dual-cameras at the rear. Wow.

Samsung’s premium Tab S line is among the very best tablets you can buy, and better than anything else we’ve seen in the Android world. We’re expecting great things from the next update to the line-up, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. According to Sammobile that should be in Q1 2017.
We’ll more than likely see two Tab S3 models, with a compact model measuring around 8in, and a larger-screened tablet around 9.7in. Rumours abound that we could see a Samsung Galaxy Tab S Edge, borrowing from the curved-edge design of the Galaxy S7 edge. However, while a glass-rear tablet would be interesting, sketches of the Tab S3 found at the FCC suggest the design will be remarkably similar to that of the Tab S2.
Whatever the Tab S3 is called, you can bet your last pound on the fact it will have a high-resolution display and way more power than anyone really needs. The Tab S3 is expected to feature a 1536×2048-pixel screen and Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Cameras are likely to be 8Mp at the back and 2Mp at the front. Following on from the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, we’d expect it to stick with a Micro-USB port for charging the internal battery, which is alleged to be 4,000mAh in the Tab S3 8in and 5870mAh in the Tab S3 9.7in.

Google is tipped to be working on a smartwatch to be announced alongside its Android Wear 2.0 update in early 2017. Actually, make that two watches, codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish.
Angelfish, the more premium of the two, bears some resemblance to the Moto 360 – without the flat tyre, of course. The smartwatch apparently features visible lugs with a smooth housing that curves where the watch strap meets the body of the device, giving it a smoother (and more premium, we imagine) look and feel when compared to the angular lugs and multi-piece design of watches like the LG Urbane LTE.
Angelfish is said to feature a large crown button on the right hand side of the body with two circular buttons accompanying it, one above and one below. The purpose of these buttons is unclear at this time, but we speculate that users will be able to set up custom shortcuts to popular apps and so on.

We’re really excited about Horizon Zero Dawn, an upcoming PlayStation exclusive from Guerrila Games. It’s set 1,000 years into the future, when robotic creatures have taken over the planet. T om Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is the first military shooter set in a massive and responsive open world, according to Ubisoft. It’s set in Bolivia, a few years from now where the country has become the largest cocaine producer in the world. It makes a nice change from previous Tom Clancy games like Advanced Warfighter or Future Soldier that take place in the more distant future.
The game is set in a huge and responsive open world, and is actually the first game to offer an open world with nine varying types of terrain, including mountains and deserts, and also includes its own dynamic weather system and day-night cycle. It will also feature a range of vehicles, driven by AI for a GTA-esque snatch-and-drive experience.
Ghost Recon Wildlands will also feature co-operative multiplayer and a number of side missions.

It’s highly likely the new iMac will feature a processor upgrade to Intel’s latest Kaby Lake family, as well as a 27in 5K display, 32GB of memory and a 2TB Fusion Drive. Apple could well turn to AMD once again for its graphics solution, with Polaris 10 a prime candidate. It offers improved graphics performance (naturally), plus potential reductions in power consumption and waste heat. More exciting, though, is that these new graphics chips would for the first time bring VR potential to the Mac.
We’ve seen Apple bring the Pro name to its iPad line-up over the past year, and we’re anticipating that the iPad mini will also get a Pro makeover in 2017. Could we also see a Pro iMac in 2017? We can’t wait to find out.

We’re reasonably confident that Apple will unveil a new iPad at its next event, which should take place in March 2017. We’re getting to the stage now where it will need to announce a new iPad Air 3 and also overdue iPad mini 5 (last updated in September 2015), or confirm their death. Based on its previous iPad releases, though, something tells us the next iPad mini could be an iPad Pro mini.
The iPad mini’s design has stayed fairly constant throughout the generations, so we aren’t expecting any big changes here. We could see a new 7000-series aluminium chassis that is thinner but doesn’t adversely affect battery life – and probably with a new Rose Gold colour option. We’d be most impressed to see Apple make its mini iPad waterproof. The most likely change in the new iPad mini is a bump up in performance.

So you thought the HTC 10 was boring? And the HTC One M9 before it? Prepare to be blown away by the upcoming HTC 11 as the company looks to reverse its fortunes in the smartphone market.

BioWare’s latest sci-fi epic is leaving the Milky Way and heading to the Andromeda galaxy, which will bring with it news ships, new alien species, and vast new planets to explore. There’ll be a few familiar faces of course, and the same blend of roleplaying and third-person shooter combat, but there’s plenty that’s new. The first looks at gameplay suggest a greater focus on planetary exploration, with open worlds and an emphasis on crafting and discovery.

The Nintendo Switch console is, as per rumours, both a home console and a handheld device at the same time. It’s a hybrid of sorts, which is an evolution of the Wii U’s Gamepad. The Switch has two removable ‘ Joy-Con ‘ controller sections, which attach at either end of the Switch tablet. Once in the dock, you move them to a controller in order to play games as per usual. The screen on the tablet is hidden so there won’t be dual-screen features like on the Wii U.
We have it on good authority there will be a 6.2in 720p capacitive touchscreen with 10-point multitouch, as well as an Nvidia Tegra processor with an Nvidia GPU based on the same architecture as the world’s top-performing GeForce gaming graphics cards .

We’re not expecting to see a new Surface Pro Windows tablet until early 2017 following the launch of Intel’s new Kaby Lake Core processors and the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update , but when we do it will be one of the best Windows tablets money can buy (and it will cost a fair amount of money, most likely starting at around £749).
One of the changes we’re certain we’ll see is an upgraded Surface Pen, since Microsoft recently filed a patent for a stylus with a rechargeable battery that charges over a magnetic dock. The Surface Pro 5 is also likely to be fitted with a Kaby Lake processor for performance and battery life improvements, a USB-C connection, and a higher-resolution 4K display. The design will otherwise stay mostly the same when compared to the Surface Pro 4.

The next big update to Windows 10 is the Creators Update, due in Spring 2017. Big new features coming to Windows 10 include more in the way of 3D content, which will span to Paint and even PowerPoint, as well as cheaper VR headsets for Windows 10. There will be built-in broadcasting, allowing you to set up a live stream using Beam. And you’ll be able to pin people to the taskbar – what sounds like a trivial update could actually be pretty useful!

This next instalment of The Legend of Zelda series will be the eighteenth main title that Nintendo has released for the franchise. It’s among the only Zelda games to have HD graphics, and will feature an open world, an exciting development that we can’t wait to experience for ourselves.
The Legend of Zelda designer, Eiji Aonuma has explained that the developers have decided to go for an open world game to give the players more freedom rather than defining exactly where the player must go, and where they must enter and exit dungeons, for example.
Players will be able to explore the open world on foot or by riding on Link’s horse Epona. Epona is a pretty cool animal, capable of allowing Link to get a better aim at enemies thanks to its artificial intelligence that’ll steer while you’re otherwise occupied.

The Note 7 may have been discontinued, but the Galaxy Note family is still very much alive. And it will make sure you know that in 2017.
The Note family is best known for its large, high-resolution screen and S Pen stylus support, and that isn’t about to change. As always, it will be an even faster, better-specified smartphone than is the amazing new Galaxy S8 that will be announced in February.

We mean the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, right? Nope. It’s the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, and that means Apple has something to prove.
The iPhone 8 could be the iPhone with which Jony Ive finally gets his own way: an iPhone that resembles a single sheet of glass with an edge-to-edge OLED screen. According to an Apple supplier, at least one of the company’s new iPhones for 2017 will have a glass body. The TouchID scanner is thought to be hidden within the glass, while the physical Home button will be gone.
Other rumours suggest the iPhone 8 will feature wireless charging for the first time, and possible biometric features such as facial recognition or iris scanning. It’ll run the Apple A11 processor and motion co-processor, and be devilishly fast.

Red Dead Redemption is a hugely popular game boasting over 13 million players, all of whom are still hoping for a Red Dead 2 – and after years of waiting, a sequel (or is that prequel?) is coming to PS4 and Xbox One .
There’s little news to share so far, but Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has said the game will offer “incredible emotional depth” with “great story elements and great gameplay elements. ”

Consoles are, historically, slightly odd. While smartphone manufacturers (and just about everybody else) provide yearly updates to their products to keep them up-to-date, console manufacturers do no such thing. However, with the introduction of the likes of the PS4 Pro , Xbox One S and now Project Scorpio, console manufacturers are making an effort to keep consoles in line with their PC brethren.
What we know so far is that Project Scorpio will be impressively powerful due to the six teraflops of graphical performance it provides. While it’s three teraflops less than the recently announced Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, the graphical output could rival that of the GTX 970 and as such, provide the console with virtual reality capabilities as well as much-improved gameplay. This will also mean it will leave the PS4 Pro in its dust, purely through its raw performance output.
One of its main selling points will unsurprisingly be VR.

You might notice something familiar about the star of this new game from Hideo Kojima. That’s right, The Walking Dead’s own Norman Reedus has been recreated in digital form for Death Stranding, which so far has left us scratching our heads.
It was announced with a cryptic trailer that really doesn’t tell us much, but the creators have said that it will be an action game “if you really want to put a genre on it. ”

Google Home is a bit like Google Now on an Android phone but operated entirely by voice. It can answer questions and carry out basic tasks such as setting timers, alarms and sending messages. It will tie in with Google’s services, such as Google Play Music, Google Cast and the new exciting voice assistant, Google Assistant.
In other words, it’s Google’s version of the Amazon Echo. Amazon Echo is a cylindrical home audio speaker that integrates a personal voice assistant called Alexa, which is very much like Siri, Cortana and Google Now on your phone or tablet. It’s always-on and always-connected, with Wi-Fi allowing it to sit on your home network and access cloud services, and Bluetooth letting you stream music from mobile devices. Google Home will work in a similar way to the Chromecast, so you can choose a song from Google Play Music and it will play on your Google Home device.
Google Home is already out in the US, but we’re expecting it to come to the UK sometime in 2017.

Massenkarambolage: Mindestens zwei Jugendliche unter den Toten

0

Unfall in Silvesternacht: Polizei in Leipzig findet abgetrennte Finger

0
