'Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Has A New Orchestral Concert Soundtrack Released Soon

While we had an amazing soundtrack collection already released for ‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ last year, we will also be getting a soundtrack set for the recent live concert and there’s a lovely highlight video to commemorate that.
While we had an amazing soundtrack collection already released for Zelda: Breath of the Wild last year, we will also be getting a soundtrack set for the recent live concert and there’s a lovely highlight video to commemorate that.
It’s worth clarifying again, that while I didn’t think Breath of the Wild was the best Zelda game ever made, I still enjoyed it and loved the music.
As you would expect with a highlight video though (shown below), it is rather short but it does a good enough job of relaying how impressive the concert was.
In case you didn’t know, Breath of the Wild had a big live orchestral concert towards the end of last year in Tokyo. Performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Taizo Takemoto, it was a very popular event and subsequently difficult to get tickets for.
Thankfully, the concert was recorded so even if you missed it you can still buy this upcoming soundtrack set of the event.
This new concert soundtrack is released in Japan on March 6 for 4,870 yen (or around $44) and includes two CDs and one Blu-ray. The latter is the video of the concert, so is definitely worth the price of entry here.
So it’s time to go back to Hyrule again and this time beckoned by a full orchestra showing the way.

Protests resume in Algeria on day Bouteflika due to submit election bid

Anti-government protests resumed in Algeria on Sunday as thousands gathered in the capital and other towns to demand Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika drop plans to stand for a fifth term, witnesses and residents said.
ALGIERS (Reuters) — Anti-government protests resumed in Algeria on Sunday as thousands gathered in the capital and other towns to demand Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika drop plans to stand for a fifth term, witnesses and residents said.
In a rare wave of public dissent, Algerians have been taking to the streets since rallies calling on him to step down began 10 days ago. Bouteflika, 82, in shaky health for years, was due to submit his official election papers at the Constitutional Council in Algiers on Sunday, the deadline for candidates.
He need not do so in person, the state news agency APS said. Bouteflika, rarely seen in public since he suffered a stroke in 2013, was at the weekend still in Switzerland for unspecified medical checks, according to Swiss media.
Algeria’s weak and divided opposition and civic groups have called for more protests should Bouteflika, in power since 1999, confirm his re-election bid. But analysts say the movement is lacking a leader and organization in a country still dominated by veterans of the 1954-62 independence war against France.
Hundreds of students gathered inside a university campus near the Constitutional Council where presidential candidates file their papers, chanting: “No to a fifth term!”
Witnesses also reported protests in other higher education faculties in Algiers and cities such as Oran in the west of the North African country, a major producer of oil and natural gas.
There was heavy security around the Constitutional Council, and police prevented students from leaving the campus, a roughly 10-minute walk away.
The first candidate to submit his papers was Ali Ghediri, a retired general who is challenging the elite made up of military, ruling FLN party and business leaders. “I tell the people a new dawn has started,” he told reporters.
Bouteflika changed his campaign manager on Saturday, state media said. He has not addressed the protests against him — the biggest since the 2011 uprisings that ousted long entrenched elites in a number of Arab countries, though not in Algeria.
Opponents say that Bouteflika is no longer fit to lead, citing his poor health and what they call undiminished corruption and a lack of reforms to tackle high unemployment and red tape hampering the economy.
Friday saw the largest turnout to date in the protest wave, with tens of thousands in the streets. A total of 183 people were injured and one person died of a heart attack, APS said.
Many Algerians avoided public political activity for years, for fear of trouble from the pervasive security services or out of disillusionment with the lack of change in the leadership.
After a decade-long Islamist insurgency that Bouteflika stamped out early in his rule, Algerians have often tolerated a political system with little space for dissent as a price to pay for relative peace and stability.

No charges for Sacramento police officers who shot and killed Stephon Clark

Calls for changes to California’s police use-of-force policies echoed throughout the state capital Saturday after the district attorney announced that two local officers who fatally shot a black man after mistaking his cellphone for a gun will not face criminal charges.
Calls for changes to California’s police use-of-force policies echoed throughout the state capital Saturday after the district attorney announced that two local officers who fatally shot a black man after mistaking his cellphone for a gun will not face criminal charges.
Sacramento County Dist. Atty. Anne Marie Schubert said Officers Terrence Mercadal and Jared Robinet acted legally when they fired 20 rounds at Stephon Clark, 22, last March after chasing him into his grandmother’s backyard and confusing his iPhone for a weapon. Schubert said the officers acted reasonably because they saw a flash of light near Clark’s hand seconds before Clark advanced toward the officers.
Both officers believed Clark had a gun and had taken a shooting stance, she said, and they responded by opening fire.
Schubert also released detailed text messages and other information on Clark’s cellphone, outlining what she described as a domestic violence incident between Clark and Salena Manni, the mother of his two children, two days before the shooting. Schubert said Clark indicated that he was thinking about suicide, may have ingested pharmaceuticals with the intent of taking his own life and feared being arrested.
The district attorney said she was presenting the personal information because a jury might have found it relevant had she decided to charge the officers. “You can see there were many things weighing heavily on his mind,” she said.
Asked if she was suggesting Clark enticed officers to shoot him by pretending to have a weapon, Schubert said it was “not my job to say that,” but a consultant’s report released as part of her investigation contained a section on “suicide by cop.”
SeQuette Clark, the mother of Stephon Clark, said that what her son went through in the days before his death was not relevant.
“She wants to go on a smear campaign on his character and his actions,” she said at a news conference after Schubert’s announcement. Whatever happened before the shooting, she said, “that is not justification. That is not a permit to kill him.”
“It was homicide and they should be charged,” Clark said of the officers. The justice system, she said, “it’s not for us. It’s not for the black community. I feel, shame on the D. A.”
Stephon Clark’s family has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the city seeking up to $35 million in damages.
Raj Manni, the father of Salena Manni, said his daughter was not informed that her private texts would be released and believed Schubert was attempting to paint Clark in a negative light.
“We are just outraged, frustrated and very angry,” Manni said. “For her to do what she did is outrageous. This was supposed to be a murder investigation.”
Saturday afternoon, Salena Manni flew from Los Angeles to Sacramento with her sons, Aiden, 4 and Cairo, 2, to address the district attorney’s findings.
“My family’s world was turned upside down,” she said of Clark’s death. Manni did not address the district attorney’s accusations of domestic abuse but said what happened before the shooting was not relevant.
Many in the black community had previously said they did not expect Schubert to charge the officers but were angered by Schubert’s focus on Clark’s mental state.
“We expected the decision she gave, but what I didn’t expect was for her to be so dirty,” said Sonia Lewis, a Black Lives Matter activist.
Clark’s shooting prompted large protests last year and fueled statewide police reform legislation that allowed greater public access to law enforcement records.
On Saturday, much of the conversation centered on more legislation that would create greater accountability and further restrict when officers can use deadly force. Two bills dealing with use of force are working their way through the Legislature. Assembly Bill 392, supported by activists including Clark’s brother, Stevante Clark, would make it easier to prosecute police involved in shootings. Law enforcement unions have put forward their own bill, Senate Bill 230, which would address use of force through various policies and training.
The Rev. Shane Harris, a spokesman for Manni, said that she was proposing a state law that would require an independent review of police shootings by the attorney general, but that she also supported AB 392.
“Please don’t stop advocating for legislation and policies that could protect other families from suffering this overwhelming pain,” she said.
Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a statement Saturday saying we “need to acknowledge the hard truth — our criminal justice system treats young black and Latino men and women differently than their white counterparts. That must change.”
Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg said he would support AB 392.
“The standard needs to change,” said Steinberg, a former leader of the state Senate. “The question must be, ‘Was the shooting preventable?’ ”
Clark was shot March 18,2018, after police answered a 911 call about vandalism. Schubert said DNA from blood found at the scene confirmed that Clark had broken the windows on three vehicles before a witness saw him jump a fence into a backyard.
Mercadal and Robinet responded and were directed to Clark by a deputy in a Sheriff’s Department helicopter who spotted Clark breaking a sliding glass door in a nearby backyard, then jumping a fence into his grandmother’s property. The two officers pursued him, firing 10 shots each over 4.5 seconds after Mercadal yelled that Clark had a gun, according to the district attorney’s report. Clark was hit at least seven times.
A second review of the incident by state Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra will probably be released “soon,” his spokeswoman said. The Sacramento Police Department requested the state Department of Justice assessment to allay community concerns about the impartiality of the investigation.
Ed Obayashi, a lawyer and Plumas County sheriff’s deputy who consults statewide on use of force, said that Schubert’s analysis was a reflection of current case law and that the decision against filing charges was legally sound.
“It would be a complete abuse of prosecutorial powers if she did,” he said. “There is no way they can prosecute this beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Obayashi also said the inclusion of the personal information was necessary.
“They can’t withhold that as evidence,” he said. “She’s obligated under law…. You can’t withhold evidence under any circumstances.”
Small protests took place outside Sacramento City Hall and at the main police station Saturday afternoon, but Lewis said she expected larger actions in coming days.
“Right now people are in a moment of mourning,” Lewis said. “It will probably ignite.”

SpaceX Crew Dragon achieves landmark docking with space station

0

The historic test mission successfully docks with the ISS, ticking off another important milestone as it prepares to carry humans to space.
SpaceX has taken another small step toward sending astronauts into space after launching the Crew Dragon capsule early Saturday morning and successfully docking with International Space Station.
Affixed to the top of a Falcon 9 booster, the rounded cone capsule of the Crew Dragon blasted off in a blaze of fire and smoke from Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 2:49 a.m. ET Saturday. The launch was the first step in the Demo-1 mission, designed to test the capabilities of the capsule over the next week, but it was only the beginning.
After launch the capsule coasted to the International Space Station (ISS) making a number of maneuvers to line up with a specialized docking adapter aboard the station. Though live footage of the event seemed rather benign, both the Crew Dragon and the ISS were travelling at over 17,500 miles per hour during the monumental docking attempt.
Crew Dragon achieved soft capture with the ISS at 5:51 a.m. ET but the high-speed space grab was not over. Shortly after, 12 hooks reached out from Crew Dragon to firmly attach it to the ISS, enabling a «hard capture» of the capsule at 6:00 a.m. ET and marking the first successful docking of a Commercial Crew capsule at the ISS.
No human crew are on board, but the capsule isn’t empty. Locked within Crew Dragon is a flight dummy nicknamed Ripley and an anthropomorphic plushie of planet Earth designed to indicate when the capsule had reached zero gravity. In addition, the capsule carried around 400 pounds of crew supplies and equipment to the ISS to simulate future missions.
On Saturday morning, the historic launch was celebrated with cheers and applause at Kennedy Space Center, after multiple delays pushed the maiden flight back from an expected launch in 2018. The site of the landmark launch was Pad 39A, which has previously seen NASA’s Saturn rockets carry astronauts to the moon aboard Apollo spacecraft and the famous launches of NASA’s space shuttles.
Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO, expressed his appreciation for both the SpaceX team and NASA at a post-launch press conference but noted the mental toll the experience had on him. «To be frank, I’m a little emotionally exhausted,» he sighed. «That was super stressful, but it worked… So far.»
Though the launch was a success, SpaceX still has a few more hurdles to leap before the demonstration mission is complete. The capsule will remain docked at the ISS until March 8, then begin arguably the most important part of its demonstration: successfully returning to Earth. The capsule is fitted with enhanced parachutes and is set to splash down in the Atlantic Ocean.
Speaking of the Atlantic, the reusable Falcon 9 booster that launched Crew Dragon successfully landed on the «Of Course I Still Love You» droneship drifting along in said ocean, approximately 10 minutes after liftoff.
As part of its Commercial Crew program, NASA handed contracts to both SpaceX and Boeing in 2014 to develop rockets that could send astronauts back to space. NASA hasn’t launched humans to space since 2011, when the Space Shuttle program ended. In the meantime, the agency has paid for spots on the Russian built Soyuz spacecraft at a cost of over $80 million per set. That makes Saturday’s success particularly important, helping chart a course for NASA to bring launches back to American soil and keep costs down.
«We want to make sure we keep our partnership with Russia, which has been very strong for a long period of time,» explained Bridenstine before the flight. «But we also want to make sure we have our own capability to get back and forth to the International Space Station.»
The Crew Dragon capsule is an enhanced version of SpaceX’s Dragon capsule, which has ferried cargo from Earth to the ISS on 16 previous occasions. This iteration can carry seven human passengers, which it’ll eventually carry to the ISS in low Earth orbit. Provided this demo mission proceeds as planned, the Crew Dragon will have to demonstrate its safety in one more «in-flight abort test,» scheduled for later this year.
If it passes that test, SpaceX and NASA will finally be ready to make another giant leap, sending astronauts to the ISS from the United States for the first time since 2011.

Євроскептики висунули Мей ультиматум стосовно угоди про Brexit — Times

0

The Sunday Times .
